Welcome Saint Ho, great choice but i´m a bit surprised that you say that there are only 5 GT in France but as i know from the 1of 101 series about 20 cars went to France.
is your GT a one of 101? you have the headlamp wash system, it´s typical for the 1-101 series. If your GT is from europe it was not so difficult to register it.
where do you put your GT for maintenance? are there specialist in the Paris area? Enjoy your GT but be careful about your driving license but on highway cruising on 6 gear about 2500 UPM you are just a bit above the legal speed limit . Hope to see your GT once.

Gene: The next time you are in Alsace drop me a line. I allowed me to correct you the Bugatti site (where they produce the Veyron) and former home from Ettore Bugatti is in Molsheim but the Musee National de l´Automobile is in Mulhouse ( Collection Schlumpf).

Regards

Pierre

...France is now full of radar traps not much fun anymore!....

But at least they put up a warning sign that you are approaching a radar unit - it's almost fun to see all the brake lights as you pass the signs. No such luck in California, or the rest of the States for that matter. Handhelds, and Instant On is the rule here. :frown :thumbsdow

You're probably forgetting these guys with their blue Subaru's hiding themself behind the treas... mainly from Paris going doing the Autoroute du Soleil. Till 160 they leave you alone above... driving licence - car keys. Just heard a nice one on EC law : It seem's that the Brothers of Love ( how we call them) cannot take the driving licence from a foreigner ( other EC country!) but are not permitted to drive in that country. If one insists the Brothers need to follow till fronteer and return the driving licence. I need to admit I'm too coward to try it out but if the occassion persists i'll need to try it.

@ FORDGT4FUN.

Hello and happy with this first contact with you.

On this forum, everyone knows better than me, the Ford GT and its history.
I appends and it is a joy to do.
Mine just arrived in my garage, and my physical experience with it is limited to less than an hour's drive (currently it rains every day in France).

Five GT in France now, this is only my estimate based on some information. It is very possible that I'm wrong. If there are more, this is good news for the exchange of experience and friendship owners. I note that one or two were destroyed in accidents, and some have recently left for other countries outside Europe.

Mine was not intended to France. She had been exported from the USA to Germany, without modification, by a very unsavory merchant. The installation of headlamp cleaning is one of many things that were just made for registration.

Friendly.

Saint Ho.

This should be the link on the Forum. It's Sascha who's co-organising this. The Guy from American Cars in Paris (Herve) would also be joining and GTSweden (chante)said he'd join as well.

Goodwood revival will be all about FOrd GT40's and we're joining with a group of 10 but... Without the cars (the women don't trust it as they are driving on the wrong side over there:))

Welcome, and congratulations of the GT, you will love it as you get to know it, they are truly exceptional cars.
You are not that far from le Mans, I travel there from Ireland, this year I will be driving there in the GT. We will stay near Alencon for the week, if you wish to meet for lunch, or a drive, let me know.

Welcome Saint Ho - for future reference we are the UK based GT centre who converted the 101 cars (at the Nurburgring) for Ford Motor Company. We hold stock of service parts and many others besides - if you need any help just let me know. I speak a little bit of French too - we have one French customer who brings his car to us for service from Annecy - quite a drive....

@ STEVEIRL:

I wish you a very pleasant stay in France.
I would love to meet with you near Alencon, but I think it will be impossible because I travel a lot in this period.
Can you give me a mobile telephone number in MP and your dates near Alençon, in case I could free myself?

@ Mountune:

Your address can be very useful. I will treasure. Thank you very much.
Can you give me your email address in MP?

@ RACEDECK:

As I indicated to STEVEIRL, I move a lot right now, and I'm not available in Paris.
Sorry. Surely another time.

Regards to all the FORUM.
