A day at the track

"I ran 5 thirty minute sessions at the track."
Bye Enzo, your comments remind me of my recent experience at the Autobahn in Joliet. I ran 6 X 20 minutes sessions, and it was fatiguing.

"When I have someone ride along with me, I'm always worried about them getting motion sick."

This was also the case with a number of driver/passengers at Autobahn. The event featured a large, catered lunch, and a # of drivers ate very little. When a guest at my table asked another why he wasn't eating, he mentioned the motion sickness issue, and sure enough, later in the day, that driver called it quits from nausea.

I just gave up my membership to MSR, as I didn't get there from Dallas enough. What kind of times have you turned on the 1.7 and 3.1 layouts? I only got my GT down there once, and didn't use a transponder, but curious what times you are getting, especially with the Hoosiers.

Great job on the Make a Wish type day for that young man. He will never forget it I am sure.

I think I was running about 2:30-35 on the long course. The modded Viper who shot the linked video ran 2:22 on his fastest lap. He's got a wing and cannards, etc. He drives his car like a bat out of hell. He's had several offs and constantly is fixing stuff on that car. On the 1.7, anything in the 1:25 range would be good for me. I don't push my GT too hard, running at 80% most of the time. I got 20+ sessions out of the slicks, the fronts are about toast now.
I just got a transponder so I'll have some better data soon. I have a Caterham Superlight R500 that is my dedicated track toy. The motor gave up the ghost in August and a new motor is getting put together as we speak. That car all out halls A$$. I live 12 miles from MSR, so I get out there at least once a month.

I find that I get queasy on a empty stomach. I nearly made myself sick once driving my Caterham at full tilt. Didn't eat enough breakfast that morning.
