I saw a user on this forum mention it. I did a search of this forum as well as googled it , I did not get an answer.

I get that 2nd gear crunch occasionally, even if i am being careful. What is it?

This is common on many GTs when cold. I shift from 1st to 3rd until the car is warmed up to avoid the problem, about 2 miles or so. After warm the gearbox should shift smoothly in all gears.

Normal. I skip 2nd when cold as well.

I found that if I let the gal warmup before I move to the point where the temp just starts to move up on the gage it never happens. If I start the GT and get on the road before I get a positive up movemnt in the temp I get a small grind whem moving to second gear... After I get positve up tick in temp (before moving) I shift it through each gear before moving. this gets the oil moving over sincros and wala no grind. This takes a few min but I am sure will help in not making the issue worse as time goes on.....

As Chris can relate older Ferraris have the same problem until the gearbox is at operating temperatures.

At 7k miles, my car no longer has the grind, even when its cold.

Until you have warmed up the temp., from first, just let the spring in the stick return to center a little and then into 2nd. No grind this way. Once warm, it is like butter.

Neither one of my cars have ever exhibited this problem. One has over 3000 miles and the other less than 100 but they both shift smooth as butter hot or stone cold. Maybe I just got lucky but I feel like there are a lot of these cars that don't grind when cold. The owners just don't bother posting about it.

My car still grinds in 2nd when upshifting, even when completely warm. The funny thing is it doesn't grind on downshifting. Does that make any sense?
