24 Heures du Mans - Ford GT Forum Style

Forum guys - With the acceptance of the entry of the Matech Ford GT in the GT1 class, we're planning a group to meet in France to go to the race. After all, this is where the GT belongs, and I don't know how many chances we'll get to see a car that shares much with the one in my garage spitting flames and running down the straight at Le Mans. We've been in close contact with Matech to try and bring as much enthusiast support as we can to the race, and they have offered to share some hospitality with us at the track.

The race is June 12-13, 2010. This is very close. If we want to lock in accommodations as a group (which Matech has offered to assist), we need to do it now. We have alternately looked at staying in Paris and taking rail to the track a few days (about 55 mins), or finding a group accommodation near the track (either hotel or potentially a chateau).

Below is a list of people who are definitely going. If you wish to be a part of the group, please post in this thread so that we may try and make arrangements to get everyone together.

Gentlemen,

This trip completes the Ford GT reincarnation. How many of us wish we were at LeMans in 1966 to see the GT triumph in the one race it was created to win? How many of us wish we could have purchased an original 1965 Ford GT?

Fate has given a few of the faithful a chance to own a new Ford GT. And a most unlikely allignment of that fate, enthusiasm, and hard work by the Matech Team will give even fewer the chance to once again see the Ford GT do battle at LeMans after a 41 year absence.

If you can join us and choose not to, you will regret it till your dying day. That's my take on it.

I want the car to race with a Ford GT Forum logo on it somewhere. Even if it's very small. I am also in for a thousand euros. Who will join us in this effort? If you're not going to LeMans, help us here anyways. We can be part of history. I'll have Project 321 make a special dash plack for all LeMans GT Forum Team Sponsors who donate a minimum of $500 acknowledging your participation in this year's 24 Hours of LeMans effort.
