Proton Competition #88 in third. Fingers crossed for a podium finish. It would be a huge first year achievement.

Nice to see Ford and Multimatic on the podium. Was surprised to not see the factory cars and drivers there. Or did I miss something?

Congrats to MultiMatic and Ford!

LeMans, always a tough race to finish, made even more challenging by the lousy weather this at the track this year. It seemingly rained about every other hour, complicating race strategy - fuel/tire selection and drivers - an immense challenge. Just the prospect of driving on slicks in transitional segments when track is not completely dry, made for a lot of incidents and a real test of driver patience and skills. Finishing all of the cars is a real achievement, the podium finish was really earned. The outcome for the Proton cars may have even been better, if not for an errant off-course by the #77 (caused by an LMP2 car?) which compromised the steering system, and required a very long time in the garage for repair. The #77 car ran so strongly early on, it was such a disappointment. A great overall experience to build-on for next year!

Joe,

You missed something. There is no more GT Pro in Europe like there was when the Ford GT's were racing. The current GT3 category are all private teams (that almost all have factory support) and every car in GT3 must have at least 1 amateur driver. So the Ford IMSA factory Mustangs can't race at Le Mans. If Ford want's to field a factory car at Le Mans it would have to be in Hypercar (I'm not sure about P2). If I got anything wrong here fellow members will correct me shortly.

Yes, the poor Aston-Martin driver looked like he got his professional instruction and license from the "CobraR" driving academy.
