2013 Shelby GT500 conversion to Shelby GT500 Super Snake

Transported my '13 GT500 up to Shelby American last September for conversion to wide body Super Snake. November-December was crunch time for Shelby with conversions of many Mustang GT to Super Snake GT350 Status and SEMA builds, resulted in a delay in getting to my GT500. Things are moving along and below images show pretty much down to bare bones. Wide body conversion completed as of yesterday. Mechanicals next, new interior, gauges, suspension, engine supercharge upgrade, hood, paint, anti-hop brackets, Kenny Bell 4L supercharger, etc. Not too much longer, 850 BHP at crank, estimate 790 and wheels, we will see. Very pleasant visit yesterday, great customer experience, nice day in Vegas, despite MGM exiting of 5000 7-11 Owners convention, and completely sold out flights back to LAX.

Frank, they told me they ran out of Red Paint! Apparently had to redo one of the local FD engines. Sterling Silver was my 2nd choice, hee hee

Depends on the quality of snow in Deer Valley season has not been good and season is closing out.

I am not sure if you are as OCD as me, but the best paint match in the world won't get the metalflake to lay down like the first application. You will see the difference in varying light. It isn't about painter skills or paint quality. My painter calls it metalflake flop. It is how the flakes arrange themselves on a certain day, temperature, application technique etc.

On a car that will be this nice, I would spray the doors and front fenders at the same time as the rear fenders. It is the only way to get it right. That's why Galpin paints the whole car on their steel-flare widebody upgrades.

I had Shelby do a 40th Anniversary Edition conversion on my 07 GT500 and add Super Snake mods too. I love that car. That’s where I got my funky screen name. My dash plaque reads CSM 07XL0027. I wish they did a wide body when mine was built. Your car is going to look/be great.

I really wanted to do a Super Snake conversion on my 2007 GT500 too, but at that point, they were limiting convertibles to only 600 (or 625?) horsepower, so I just did my own “Super Snaking” to the tune of 750 rwhp. Fast, but not as cool as a real Super Snake.
