Hello,

Can anybody share some information about Matech 2009 GT1 Ford GT ?

This car seems very elusive , there is almost no information about the 2009 Ford GT1.

I have heard one is still owned by Marc VDS team, but the problem is Marc VDS stopped to exist as a GT racing team.
There is no contact with them.
They only race with motorbikes now.

What is happening with this 2009 GT1 car now?

I know there were two such cars built. One in black livery (Matech) and one for Marc VDS.

In 2010 the car was different (different body , aerodynamics etc.), such as is Lance Millers GT1 Ford GT.

Hope to get some info here.
Any information would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Kind regards
Marcin

Search this forum for Matech and you'll find a lot of info.

Thank you.

I managed to find out the black 2009 GT1 (Matech livery) car was imported into US, but what is happening to the car now?

I believe racelance still owns two of the racecars now.

Just out of curiosity, why are you looking for this car?

Marcin,

I'm happy to do my best to help with this topic. I'm sure others will chime in on the areas I'm a little fuzzy. Greg and I still own the 4 remaining Matech Ford GT GT1 race cars. There were two prototype cars from what I gather, one was owned by the late Ray Hoffman and the other was (and still could be) owned by Marc VDS. Marc used/uses this car for charity runs on the track. The two prototype cars are extremely different from the final GT1 product Matech produced - not near the quality for obvious reasons. Cool cars, indeed... very cool!

Other than the above I don't know much more about the prototype cars. In fact I often forget about Mr. Hoffmans car when telling the story. I'm sure DBK or Steven could shed more light to the build of the prototype cars.

Hope this helps,

Lance

Thank you for your help Lance.

I really appreciate it!

I got your book last week and it`s great!
Owning those GT1 cars must be a dream! :)

I also contacted Steven Nesta and I am buying the Matech Books from him too , it should provide me with lots of great information about Matech GT1 cars.

I wrote to Marc VDS about their car but got no reply.

I wonder what is happening with Mr Hoffman`s car now.

@DBK I am a racingdriver and car enthusiast. I race in Nurburgring VLN and RCN endurance series and occasionally I see Matech Ford GT3 from team Alzen and Lambda Performance.
I love those cars and they are my obsession to such point that I am considering buying the Matech GT3 as my car for next season in VLN. :)
The car is a bit old now but it`s still very fast and holds the Nurburgring VLN lap record.
The VLN rules allow older vehicles to be run with the current GT3 cars.

The Lambda Performance Ford GT3 is very interesting subject as it looks very similar to 2010 Matech GT1. It is widebodied in similar way to the 2010 GT1.
They also worked with driver Thomas Mutsch who was Matech development driver.

Thank you again Lance for sharing the information.

I have one of the GT3 cars , you can see my build thread in this forum , finished the car last year and did one race at Portland International Raceway , the GT3 car is a fun , fast car .
Planning on running several races in the Northwest this year , what car have you been running in the VLN?

Hi :)

I`ve read your build thread, great work!
Beautiful car, congratulations! :)

I drive BMW M235i Racing cup car.
It`s nowhere near the power and speed of a GT3 car but I am a beginner and it`s very good car to learn.

Last year I saw this beast:
https://scontent.cdninstagram.com/v...845_177970389494976_8356181177303826432_n.jpg

As you can see Alzen modified the car. There are louvers on front clamshell, front splitter is enlarged and they added dive planes.
The rear spoiler was extended beyond the car for more downforce and I think rear diffuser is also enlarged.

Cheers!
