The Vector never moved me, I really did not spend a lot of time looking at it at B-J, the purple color looks great on a Gallardo, but did nothing for me on the Vector. I would have expected it to do more, but, obviously that was market correct for the day it went over the block.

Daniel,
Definitely not a car for everybody. There are some angles where the car looks like a shark, others it looks more like a countach. I'm not a fan of the rear styling on the W8's myself.

I've not seen any purple Gallardo's myself, but G's do look pretty good.

(Isaac BTW ;) )

Yes, been watching prices and although Heritage models still get a premium, e-bay and consignment sellers are getting $130-155K, many in the $139K range depending on mileage. rather dissappointing but maybe predictable with current economy. Hope things improve.

Yikes! Easily the lowest prices yet for the GT... I'll second the hope that the economy improves soon

I would never sell a modern car at auction.

Exactly. It's guaranteed suicide if it sells. Modern production supercars always sell below the market at auctions. That's why you rarely see them in auctions, even high a demand "zillions over sticker" modern Ferrari will draw less money at an auction than they will otherwise.

Update:

The Purple M12 sold, locally owned now. Sold for $85,000.

The W8 DID NOT sell. It was bid up to $565,000 before if fizzled out. It did not meet reserve. The owner did not want to sell it, but set the reserve at a value he wouldn't feel bad parting ways over. It is among the nicest W8's in the world; with all the updates of the later produced W8's. Reserve was at $1.4MM. Car 8 sold for $1.2 almost 4 years ago. Some have traded hands for between 200-300 in between. 565 is an interesting number considering the market. I believe Bony is right when he says low production low mile cars with well documented histories will still pull historic values.
