This GT was originally delivered to Atlanta, Georgia where it spend two years and was driven less than 5,000 miles. The current owner brought it to Phoenix, AZ where is has been cared for and enjoyed for the last ten years. It is a three option car, the only option not selected was red or grey paint for the brake calipers. The car has been meticulously maintained, all services performed prior to the factory recommended intervals using OEM fluids and supplies. One exception to the use of factory fluids is Motul RBF600 in the brake and clutch system. The Ford GT has a very small reservoir for clutch fluid and the slave cylinder is subject to quite a bit of heat, often times this leads to failure. This car has not experienced any such failure. The clutch, brake fluid and engine oil have been changed annually since being purchased by it's second owner in 2007 with under 5,000 miles on the odometer. The transaxle fluid has been changed twice in the past ten years.
The car is equipped with a few aftermarket parts; Pulley for the supercharger and engine tune to match the increase in boost from the supercharger. The factory supercharger pulley and factory tune (with tuner) are included. Other aftermarket items include front and rear mud flaps. These help keep the road debris off the car and don't detract too much from the design. An x-pipe exhaust replaces the OE muffler giving the GT the type of sound it should have. A pair of Airaid oiled air filters replace the OE paper filters.
This car was signed in 2008 by Camilo Pardo, the chief designer of the Ford GT. The signature was covered with clear bra to help preserve it.
The car has clear bra on the nose, mirrors and forward portion of the roof.
The original Goodyear tires were replaced with Bridgestone RE050's which have much better traction & road manners than the Goodyear tires and are rated for the speeds this car can achieve.
This was one of the early cars with the a-arm recall, so it has those beautiful billet arms everyone wants.
One item seems to plague the Ford GT, that's the Clamshell vents. The OE vents are plastic and warp easily, especially in the Arizona heat. The clamshell vents on this car were replaced with a billet aluminum set, painted to match. The vents look exactly like the originals, but won't ever warp.
Since these cars were hand built, some exhibit better fit and finish than others, this particular car certainly lands in the top few percent. The doors open nicely and close with a solid sound. No rattles or vibrations exist.
