The rears are 11" - I had to go a little narrower than the 11.5" stock because the rear tire will be a 295/25-22 (only reasonable size in the ADVAN series I'm going to use)

The centers came in the wrong color - the are high gloss black, and I wanted matt gloss, so I took them apart and they are being powder coated right now..

One,

Those are great looking wheels, nice photo too, but they just don't show the HUGE SIZE of those puppies. The Carrera GT rears are 20s and they are huge.
That means your fronts are massive, wow, not to mention your rears.

Can't wait to see pics of the car with such a low profile tire on it. And hear about how the ride changes if it does.

Nice shot,

Allan

I wasn't going to show you guys any pics of the wheels with the wrong color center (afraid that some of you would like the high gloss better)

But what the hell - here ya go ;-)

Do you happen to know the weight of your news wheels vs. the forged ones that you are replacing?

One,

Cool Pics, thanks for the early view. I agree they will look better with the black in matt.

Didn't you also order a custom lower spring/shock combo?

Let us in on the progress.

Allan :wink

Haven't had them on the scales yet. The centers are quite heavy, but the outer wheels are also forged, and are very light indeed...

Those 22" are made to fit big SUV's and my plan is to take them by a machine-shop and remove some materiel from the center section... (pics and weight specs will follow)

But in all respect for unsprung weight and stuff, these wheels are made for show - and when its track racing time, my standard wheels with those new Good Year street legal racing slicks will go back on...

Smart choice. You wouldn't want to use the shaved centers on the track. Who knows what high G side loads would do to the wheels. You don't want them to crack on the track.

Well I'm still going to stay on the safe side - but these centers are the same as used on the wheels for 2.5 ton trucks and stuff, so there should be some room shaving...

I know this isn't exactly on subject, but where did you get your car cover? That is very slick!

As i posted previous, my wheels came in high gloss Black instead of the matt I ordered..:-(

I took them apart, had them blasted and powder coated - mounted the tires - and......

I'm quite pleased with the looks.
The car is right now sitting on some dummy shocks, but my Ohlins should be here next week...

Also I'm still waitnig for the front tires to arrive...

Very Cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very Cooooollllll..

Love the low profile tires too.

Can't wait to hear your opinion of the ride changes. Since you're changing shocks, you've made two changes at once, still I'm courious if the ride get "too" firm for crusing.

Sure will improve your traction and lateral abilities!!

Keep us posted,

Allan

Looks really good. But I wouldn't shave any weight off the rims at all. You can if you want but food for thought... Those rims were engineered to be a certain weight and rotating mass... You take that away... Say you hit a pot hole or road depris or take a sharp turn and a area was machinced down that was a critical area... You wouldn't know if they were to crack or not... It's kinda like playing Russian Roullette(sp?).

I didn't shave thsoe rears after all, but the center section on the 22's is very beefy indeed, and I'm sure if its made to hold the massive weight of an Escalade, it has materiel to spare...

But all said - I left them as is...

Front tires just got in - so gotta run....:)
