This car was restored in 2011 by a MCA Concours Judge and I bought it from him. It use to belong to Jimmy Connors and is Playmate wife Patty McGuire. The guy who sold it to them lives in Escondido and is still around and has a lot of history or memories of the car.
In 1968 Shelby made the GT500 convertible and GT500KR convertible. The GT500 had a 428 Police Interceptor and the GT500KR had the famed 428 Cobra Jet which puts out about 410HP. For insurance purposes it was said to put out only 335HP which was crap. Later in 68' Ford did a special paint run of Yellow, Orange, and a few other odd ball colors of GT500KR. These cars have become very collectible due to the low number produced.
In all 518 GT500KR convertibles were made but only 42 were yellow and only 7 were Yellow with a black top and a 4 spd which is mine. I have all the information from the Shelby Registrar and have a history book on the car. In the height of the crazy days at Barret Jackson a car of the same configuration sold for $302K. Realistic prices for a nice GT500KR convertible these days are $175K to $225K. A nice black one sold at Barrett Jackson this year for $209K and another nice one for $180K. A couple plain white cars sold for about $150K.

I am asking $185K for the car and I think that leaves plenty of upside for a new buyer/collector to do great long term. You can see from the pics the car was really redone nicely. Any questions, please PM me. I rather sell it direct to someone who will appreciate it then go the auction route.
