...One other small difference since we are recording - remote key fobs are different...

For those interested, here's a photo. The one on the left is 2005 and the right is 2006.

Doesn't matter. They BOTH look like they're from a Focus!:lol

I think you should be happy with all the Focus parts. No GT tax if you know how to order.

My 06 key fob looks like your 05 key fob. My build date is 1 Dec 05.

Hmmm. Probably a rolling change.

It does amuse me just how cheap and tacky the GT key looks and feels. The Murcielago key was even worse.

In the 'Grand Scheme' of things, it's unimportant of course, but I would say that just to behold the Bentley key is a moment of joy. To hold and fondle it is profoundly pleasurable.

Sports car keys (I guess) should be items of little consequence - they're 'man things', functional things, no time for fluffery things, stick-me-in-the-ignition-and-let's-not-be-gay-about-it things.

However, as I sit and muse about keys - it would be nice if more than 15 seconds had been spent on the design. Maybe.

I'd better get back to work! :biggrin

Seriously, you shouldn't be talking about a key like that. :eek

I just grabbed my keys to the cars that I own, and lo and behold there are VAST differences in the KEYFOBS!!! I can't believe my eyes. I think the 'O5 car is faster thought because the keyfob feels lighter.

05 and 06 differences

Hi

I'm trying to get up to speed on the difference between the 2 years, as I understand that the differences are not very drastic. However, I still want to be educated because I'll be seriously shopping for a GT during the next few months (first choice gulf, as long as the seller doesn't want an outragous premium; 2nd Blue w/white stripes; and 3rd white w/blue stripes)! After I Q'd up "05 vs 06 difference" and went thru 20 threads identified, this thread is the closest to what i'm looking for. Is this the most exhaustive list within the forum?

Other than the items mentioned in this thread, can anyone tell me did Ford fix the inside door panels from coming off? if so, when did they do it? if not, how can it be fixed? I hate to spend north of $170k for a car and the panels come off when I take the wife out in it (you know what I mean..)

thx

Ed

5/26/06:

"This aluminum trim is originally attached with clips along with the adhesion tape. After this concern was reported to Ford, they implemented the revised installation process which started around 7/27/05. It’s great to know that Ford keeps improving the product.

I hope this helps to put some minds at ease.

Charles"

That'll be a $19.95 "finder's fee", sir! :rofl :cheers

Regardless, if you have that pblm, a good "doublestick tape" will solve it.

And, yes, the things listed on this thread pretty much sum up all differences noted to date.

Yes, Ford fixed it. Whatever car you buy should have most of this stuff taken care of. The big problem is the half shaft bolts - make sure it's been done OR that you get it done!

The pedal assmbly may different

Some GTs had a single mounting bolt that held the pedal assembly to the IP brace. Other (I suspect) 06 models require two smaller bolts. Dan
