This wheel got scuffed while face down on a floor (no curb rash at all). All blemishes on the inside lug areas are from the lighting and not in the finish. Other than the surface scuffs the wheel is perfect for someone that isn't a picky or is looking to paint a set. $500.00 + shipping

Just curious. I know there was a lot of effort and talk at one time about finding actual matching paint. Did anyone ever come up with solution?

I know one possible way to deal with a bum wheel is to paint front and rear on one side with a VERY close match, and believe in the theory that people won't connect with a side-to-side variation. Pebble beach maybe.

I am very close and will be posting pics soon. I hope to offer a service to redo them. Maybe even an exchange program.

Many have tried to match the paint and all have failed. It is a three step process.

Look forward to pics.

Someone has to be able to do it! I'm sure it has been a lot of work on your part, but I bet there are a lot of owners would appreciate having that option available.

Dr. Frank

What are the three steps? Primer, base and clear that we are familiar with, or something different?

Other than greed through selling replacements, I never understood why BBS didn't cooperate in making either material or information on color formula available.

The auction for the '06 red/white GT currently running on BaT states, "A curb mark is shown on one of the wheels in the gallery, though the seller notes it has since been repaired." What does that mean to y'all?

I can't actually find a pic showing it, or if it's on one or more of the wheel pics, I can't find the mark.

Photo #51 shows some paint chips on the very outer edge of the wheel. Looks more like they were made during tire mounting rather than a curb.

My understanding from the president of BBS of USA is there is a base coat, a coat of silver metallic, a third coat of something else, then clear coat. It is the third coat that sets it apart from other silvers. Wheels are made both in Germany and Japan. No more info can be obtained. As I said, many people have tried but no one has succeeded.
