Halfshaft Bolt Answers (all threads merged)

Maybe Ford is right I think our problem is not catastrophic (we need spell check). No one has lost the half shaft, it just pulls out far enough to disengage the splines and maybe throw some fluid. My guess is that the half shaft can't compress for enough for the flange to come completely out...

    Awesome track day

It was nice to meet some of you at Sears Point. The weekend and weather was great. I put on over 180 track miles on the car with no problems and loads of fun (Red #19). The car did get warm in the afternoons, 220-235 degrees. I had raced on the track at Wine Country Classic a couple of times in...

Ramp spacing on a 4 post lift

That would work. I have the gt on top since it doesn't leak anything, unlike the Shelby, which leaks everything. I need to get some leak tray that will fit between the ramps when parking below. Craig

    Lifting my GT?

I had a two post lift in my previous house (now my ex has a two post lift, but I got the cars :biggrin ) I just installed a 4 post in my rented house, 1- because it is rented and I didn't have to worry about holes in the floor, and 2- it accomodate the GT much better. I can drive right on. I...

Ramp spacing on a 4 post lift

I went through the same thought process, and installed the hd-9 with a rolling jack a couple of weeks ago. It is a tight fit, so tight that I will never drive it on casually. It makes me concentrate and check. The front isn't an issue but the rear tires are edge to edge on the outside. This...

    Aluminum body Cobra kit car.

Shelby American builds aluminum as well as fiberglass Cobras, both 427 style and the FIA 289. Finishline is their largest dealer, I believe. I have several freinds with them and they all say the same thing, they are great cars, but a bitch to build. http://www.finishlinecobraslv.com/ Craig

    Replacement brake pads

I'm not having any luck finding a source for pagid pads for the GT. :confused Where can I get them? Is there a more common car that uses the same Brembo brakes? The problem seems to be that none of the suppiers list the GT as a supported model. Craig

New guy with a rattle fix

I had exactly the same experience with Accufab. I will put the car up on the lift tomorrow and check all the screws. Thanks for the tips. Craig

Gas Tank Size and Driving Habits

Duroc brings up a good point. Most other exotics are high strung engine and like all high strung engines they like to rev. But the GT is fairly lightly tuned, it gets it's torque because it breaths like it is a 10 liter (12 # boost on a 5.4 liter). True... you wouldn't want to punch it at 1500...

Bull Run '06 - White GT

I have to agree with Robert. :frown It's one thing to open it up on empty roads or the track, it totaly irresposible to do it in that kind of traffic. And, it has nothing to do with driving skill. If one of those cars that was being passed swerved to get out of the way, we would have seen the...

    New Accufab GT X-Pipe

Hi AMB, I need to go out to the Dyno shop anyway, Tuesday would be good for me, but I have to drop someone at the airport at 8:30 so I should be there by 9:00 no problem. We are talking about the dyno shop in Santee, right? And, Yes, I can reccomend the X-pipe. Craig

    Pacific Raceways Yesterday

Kageno, What was your speed at the end of the front straight? I would guess 170-175? I love that right turn at the end that is taken flat out. It is a beautiful track. Like racing in a national park. Craig

    New Accufab GT X-Pipe

Accufab exhaust I just drove back from Ontario to San Diego after having the X-pipe, computer tune, and inlet support installed. It is much quieter than you would expect. When I first started the car I hardly noticed the difference from the inside, and very little difference outside at idle. It...

    Carroll Shelby Signature Stickers

PL510jeff: Did you have the Hertz in the car corral? If so, I think I spoke with you as you were waiting to go out onto the track for a tour. Craig

    Carroll Shelby Signature Stickers

I rented one at Seattle. They didn't have my sub-compact that I reserved and asked if I wanted to upgrade. I told them I take a Shelby for three days if they had one available. They did, it was $240/day unlimited miles. Fun car, and gets almost as much attention as the GT. The stall converter is...

    Carroll Shelby Signature Stickers

I rented a Hertz GT-350 a couple of weeks ago, and it had a clear decal on the dash that had Shelby's signature. It also had the Hertz GT-350 logo, but you could cut cut out the singnature if you could find the decal. Craig
