    Go like hell!!!

I chatted with A.J. Baime at the N.Y. auto show yesterday and it's still not a done deal with the movie (GO LIKE HELL). Probably won't happen for a while, probably 2015-plus. He has a new book coming out soon, about the U.S. industrial (auto industry, etc.) support of allied WW II efforts. Marty

    GT40@ The Petersen Museum

A great show, 'World's Greatest Sports Coupes,' opened yesterday at the Petersen Museum in LA. Part of Jaguar's launch of the new F-TYPE Coupe, they brought in 12 celebrity curators and their picks. My son Stuart (Jaguar Land Rover NA) worked with the Petersen on the show and you can see the...

    FORD GT In The Media

Hey Gary, no problem. I should hire you as my PR guy! I should note that Bill Kolb who had the car at Gotham Ford, ended up as one of the top Shelby car salesmen back in the day. He and I are still friends and he owns a Tungsten Grey and Heritage GT, and now owns one of the top Subaru...

    FORD GT In The Media

Great shots, documenting history. I was just starting out as a car magazine editor in 1960, didn't meet Carroll until 1964 at Riverside at a Ford Press event. He took me (and others) for hot laps in comp-prepped Cobra early in the AM after a night of seriously heavy partying in his suite. Had...

    FORD GT In The Media

Many thanks for the nice words. Since buying a GT and falling in lust with it, as I did with the GT40 in 1967, will give the brand/nameplate as much exposure as I can. It will always be an American Icon.

A.J. still works for Playboy and has written another book about the auto industry and WW II. They are making a movie based on his GO LIKE HELL book, lots more exposure for Ford & GT40. Alas, no invite to the mansion!

    Sarasota Exotic Car Fest 2/22/14

Great shots, Gary. Thought I'd add a couple more. A wonderful time was had by all who braved the elements to help raise money for UCP and show the Prancing Horses & Raging Bulls what American power & styling is all about.

    CP4 up for sale (again?)

CP4 is titled and drives at normal speeds. It has been for sale for some time now. Originally given by Ford to an auto museum. When museum was clearing out inventory, sold CP4 with bill of sale. When photo of it next to my GT was taken about a year-plus ago, it did not have title. It does now...

Sinkhole opens, swallows 8 Corvettes at NCM

Very sad day. Here's the inventory involved according to local newspaper: Two of the Corvettes damaged, a 1993 ZR-1 Spyder and a 2009 ZR1 "Blue Devil," were on loan from General Motors. The other six Corvettes were owned by the museum and included a 1962 Black Corvette, 1984 PPG Pace Car, 1992...

    TimePieces Thread

One of my favorites is this vintage 1970 Breitling GMT Chrono with Breitling bracelet. I bought it new at Breitling's office in NYC when I was Editor of CARS Magazine. That was before the brand was sold everywhere. Never serviced other than a cleaning. Marty
