After nearly 15 years in the making, I finally own a Ford GT

On a side note, how do I get picture posting privileges? I understand that ownership is prerequisite? Is that correct? What is the prones from this point forward?

After nearly 15 years in the making, I finally own a Ford GT

Quick update. The car arrived just as the sun was coming up. I wasted no time getting a quick 30 mile rip through the early morning countryside. Knowing the combination of 29 degree weather and 15 year old Goodyears don’t mix, I never went more than 1/3 throttle. There will be plenty of time...

After nearly 15 years in the making, I finally own a Ford GT

I’m late 40’s and live in Charlotte, NC with my lovely bride of 22, almost 23, years and two kids. So I eat, sleep, and drink cars. Cars never leave my thoughts. My sensibility leans in the direction of “buy and hold” versus “in and out”. I look at the cars through the lens of: would the...

After nearly 15 years in the making, I finally own a Ford GT

So it’s been a long time coming, almost 15 years, but I am happy to report that I’m an owner. Here’s an earlier post that describes part of the journey. https://www.fordgtforum.com/forums/threads/lowered-seat-base-for-tall-people.34247/post-482145 I started off targeting black, preferably...

I tried searching, but could not find contact info. Do either of you have his number? Which shop does he work out of? Thanks.

    Charlotte GT technician?

Can anyone recommend a GT technician in Charlotte, NC? I am looking at acquiring a 05/06 GT and I wanted to know if there might be local source to handle basic services like fluids and other maintenance items. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Hidden dangers of buying low mile car?

Wow! I can’t thank everyone enough for their input. Talk about a treasure trove of info. Even the resident luminaries weighed in with high level insight that only they can provide after the thousands and thousands of hours they have devoted to their craft. I would still still wish to acquire...

Hidden dangers of buying low mile car?

So I am in market. Been casually in market for a while actually, but I am at the point now where I am the closest I have been to pulling the trigger. I won’t bore everyone with how close I have come in the past, but let’s just say, it’s a long and strange road, but here we are. In any case...

How much impact will Barrett-Jackson have on the market?

Certainly no reason to get worked up, but endlessly fascinating nonetheless. It’s a spectacle.

Don't jump all over me, but.....Values

Worth noting too that this tread has enjoyed an unusual amount of viewing activity. Using a “views per day” metric this topic leads all threads on the first 3 pages. That’s using quick math while scanning down the pages. Could it be this is actually one of more popular topics? Could be it...

Don't jump all over me, but.....Values

Trying to understand the animus towards new people and the typical value related inquiries they bring with them. I am on literally all the other exotic car forums (fchat, mchat, mclarenlife, lambo-talk, huracantalk, lambopower, basically all except rennlist, long story, I’m even on...

Don't jump all over me, but.....Values

FWIW, KBB does not provide any data (too small sample size?) and Edmunds hits a 2016 Tungsten 2500 mile 4 option car at a $191 dealer retail and $165 private party. So essentially both those online tools are not especially useful for this application.

Lowered seat base for tall people.

Thanks for the information. Crazy story, but 10 years ago I Fed Ex’d a check to a dealer, I think in PA, for payment in full for a leftover 2016 Tungsten 4 option car. It was when availability was winding down and nearly everyone that wanted one had one. I think I got it for $10,000 off...

Lowered seat base for tall people.

Just out of curiosity, how much extra space does this create. I am 6’6” and find the FGT to be impossibly tight. Oddly enough, I fit fine in my Performante and F12. Never thought about hacking the seat for more space. Interesting idea for sure.
