Not sure about the 2.5 gallon reserve but one thing for sure is you dont want to run out. Regardless of weather it's a Fordgt or a Ford F150, running the fuel pumps dry can be harmfull to them.

Its a piece of cake really, After removing the bolts it just comes right off and its very light so you can just lay under the car and rest it on your chest without any help

Here is another Vote for the Guyett Performance separator, I installed mine at the track during the Rally. Here are the results after 1500 miles. 2.1 OZ in the plastic cup is what came out. I much prefer it in the separator rather then in my intake tube.

I would like to here more about your choice of Coils. I see they are no longer {Coil on plug} Did you do that so they are in a cooler place and is there a performance gain with those type of ignition coils?
