Great write up Dave... love reading about the new GT. Can't wait until my time to put one in my Ga Raj Mahal. It really needs a big splash of Red in the middle of all the white cars. :)

I would love to offer the assembly a very thorough and objective review of the the NGT. I have encountered a technical glitch however; I lack machinery. I shall attempt to remedy this if y'all don't mind waiting a couple of years.

Until then, I am composing a thrilling review of the GT TT that I just went out and drove 223 mph in its maiden outing. Have I told you guys lately how much I love being a part of this awesome group?

That write up was money Dave. Thanks for taking the time to feed our addiction! Ford has allowed us all the time of our lives when it comes to the GT. We are very lucky.

Dave gave me a quick ride in his and the two things that really blew my mind was the low end torque and the braking. That thing would destroy my '06 whippled GT on the acceleration front.

Dave, YES!!! Finally a detailed review from an owner. Thank you. Very well written.

I know its hard to describe in words, but it sounds like it has the"feel" that's just right. Most modern cars lack that it seems. I drove my 92 Viper this weekend, and it just "feels" good, however, my 08 Whippled GT500KR no so much.

The hydraulic suspension is one of the great party tricks of all time. Go to any car show and drop the car. It will make people gasp every single time. The front lift is an incredibly useful tool. Approaching any shoddy road element, hit the button and boom you've instantly gained clearance.

I've never driven a car that inspires more lunacy. People literally freak out over this car because it barely looks like it should be legal on a public road.

Gentlemen,

I finally had time to put some temporary tape on the most vulnerable rock strike areas of my new GT and I've had it out twice. On Saturday I took it to the Pavillions Car Show in Scottsdale. DBK's comment about lunacy and people freaking out is spot on. I had high school and grade school boys thank my profusely for bringing it with a level of gratitude that would normally be reserved for pulling off a tricky operation and saving a life. Many people spent an entire hour staring at it. Some actual comments from young people, "You made my entire year bringing this car here", "This is the coolest car EVER!!", "Screw all those other super cars, this thing rules", "This car defines sick", "Somehow, some way, sometime in my life I HAVE to make enough money to buy one of these", "Thank you so much for actually driving this thing so we could see it", and my favorite comment which I heard twice after letting about a dozen young people sit behind the wheel, "YOU are the coolest guy ever!" LOL.

People were slack jawed, dumbfounded, and blown away seeing a bright yellow brand new Ford GT drive into their local car show. But from hundreds of comments that night one thing really stood out and it's this. People have tremendous affection for the Ford GT that's totally different from the disconnected admiration they might have for other super cars. When a hometown high school football team wins the state championship everybody in the town is proud. People who have never met the players or their families are still thrilled because it's "my town" and "our team". "We" are the champions. People who will never own one were proud of that Ford GT. It's American, it's a Ford, it's the coolest car ever built, and it's a product of "Our country".
Where a Bugatti or La Ferrari would garner standoffish appreciation, the GT seemed to make people happy and proud. Oh, and yeah, the party trick thing when you fire the car up and put it in track mode generates an instant crowd pleasing, eye widening and verbal reaction from everybody.

The new Ford GT is cool in so many ways that can't be measured with statistics. Absolutely nothing on the road is more striking, as beautiful, or more purposely raw and focused on it's reason for existence. Winning at Le Mans.

There is only one Steve McQueen, the King of Cool. In automobiles the new GT is just that. It has a magic that no other car, at any price, can match. And honestly, when you drive this damn thing, you might not actually be, as those young GT fans said, "The coolest guy ever", but it still feels really damn good. All the best.

I think this rings very true.

Chip, I can't imagine how blown away people would be, if you brought both of your speed yellow GT's to an event! That would be something to behold.

I would make a few other random notes.

The notion the car is unbearably loud from mag reviewers is really laughable. I guess if you hang the RPMs at like 4100 RPM and catch a certain frequency, the drone will be annoying. And I suppose most of us do the majority of our supercar driving at 4k RPM for huge stretches of time. Or not. The car certainly makes less noise than an 05/06 with a muffler delete cat back. I've had lots and lots of people in the car. It's plenty quiet enough to carry on a conversation at regular speaking volume.

The hydraulic suspension is one of the great party tricks of all time. Go to any car show and drop the car. It will make people gasp every single time. The front lift is an incredibly useful tool. Approaching any shoddy road element, hit the button and boom you've instantly gained clearance.

It would be capable from a comfort perspective, but lack of storage space renders it near useless as a tourer.

I was surprised to drive the car on a really, really tight mountain road to find the car hilariously fun. It's a huge car but it shrinks with speed, and the gearing is such that where an ultra tight road would be a tedious annoyance in the 05/06, it was really fun in the 17. On the other hand, I can see where long highway cruising in the 17 would be more tedious, while it's perfectly entertaining to ride the surge along in the 05/06.

I would rate the transmission highly overall, but nothing beats the PDK in a GT3 RS.

The car is significantly crazier looking on the road amongst other cars than it is on a show stand. It's a big, long and wide car. It's pretty imposing going down the road. That said, the other day I saw a new GT driving towards me. From 500 feet away, I thought it was an 05/06 for a minute. The new car is radical, but the familial DNA is strong.

I've never driven a car that inspires more lunacy. People literally freak out over this car because it barely looks like it should be legal on a public road.

I have read the summaries by Chip and others. The posts
make the wait to get my Heritage GT even more difficult.
But I will wait with great antiscipation.
I own super cars. I have been getting social security for a long
time.
I feel the New Ford GT is an outstanding super car designed
and manufactured In the USA.
At my stage in life I can not go on a track. But I would
like to become a member of the 200 MPH fraternity. Once
with a pro as driver and then with me driving the GT.
Thank you.
Best wishes.

Dave & Chip have covered pretty much everthing !! I will Echo what Dave said on the track. The car inspires conference you don't feel like you could ever do anything wrong in this machine... I just turned 600 miles.. I'll be changing the oil and having some more fun!! I really haven't run the car too much in the upper Power Band so the fun will begin soon!

Sheeeeeit! You guys and your write-ups are making me jealous!

Seriously though, I don't think I've ever read individual posts more times in a row than I just did with DBKs and Chip's. Nicely done.
