Looking into new wheels, and would like to know what backspace is minimum with 12" rears, and what is the max advised width for the front.
Would anyone on HRE's or ADV1's share their wheels specs?Thanks

Those are HRE 844R wheels, no?

I had a set of those made as well in the following dimensions;

Factory is a 9" ET 50. this 844R is a 18 x 10" ET 52 (Rounded up from 51.6).
This means that it is 11.6 mm more to the front and 13.4mm to the back.
Almost perfect split.

The rear is the same offset we discussed on SW's red car. 19 x 12.5" ET 38.
Factory is an 11.5 ET 40. Being that there is 25.4mm in one inch. This
means that 14.7mm are going outboard and 10.7mm are going to the inside

Per my discussions with HRE

As in the last pics posted by me mentioning them as my HRE's?

Now I got ya. Was having minor deja-vu from the post by the Kuwait GT owner lol. He's very confused about wheels and tires it seems.

Yes they are indeed 844R's.

844Rs are officially discontinued, but in this economy, all requests are taken seriously. I was way late to the game on that one. Have not mounted them up yet. Per my above post, I did go 1" wider (both front and rear) on stock diameters.

I was going to post that if you look up that model nowadays, that they indeed are listed as discontinued. My pic was more for visual sizing ref these days for OP. Mind you you're right, HRE are very made to order orientated, they may well still make a set as you say if approached them directly. The 844R's aren't the only HRE's or other wheels that look good on the GT, there are others out there that look damn sweet.

It's not really hard with wheels and tires if you have local suppliers who can speak directly to companies like HRE and get direct recommendations for fitment and even sample photos of the same model car with the styles of wheels fitted you are interested in. HRE supplied pics to me via the local HRE dealer by email and I had wheels and rubber sorted inside a week... Otherwise having good experienced owners and technicians as with the members here on the forum, it's pretty easy to get it right as well mate..:thumbsup
