^^^Blue. IDK (Marty would know), but isn't that sweet? The turnout has doubled (tripled?) now that the snow birds are migrating back for the winter. Soon it will be "get there early if you want a place to park."

The Cobra, an ERA build to replicate the last FIA Cobra built (no trunk extension for luggage and side exhausts) is owned by Joe Angeleri who bought a real Shelby slab side 289 Cobra when new from Gotham Ford (NYC) and sold it almost two years ago. It had won every possible Shelby Club award. Car is in Concours shape.

Dick Smothers drove open-wheel Formula cars, drag raced a '68 Olds 442 and drove a Greenwood big-block Corvette at Le Mans back in the day. Serious enthusiast, lives in Sarasota, FL and a member of Sarasota Cafe Racers,

The Smothers Brothers show was on in the late 60's during the heyday of TV variety shows, right along with Rowan and Martin's Laugh In. They tried to bring it back in the late 80's but it didn't do well and as I recall may have been the last of the variety shows ever.
Thanks to them we got Pat Paulsen (the perpetual presidential candidate, and later, semi-serious about it), Father Guido Sarducci, and Officer Judy.
I still play a couple of their record albums (for those of you that remember vinyl) - always good for a laugh.

I ran into Joe the other day at the Lake Mirror Classic Auto Festival in Florida. Hadn't seen him since the SAAC 28 Convention in Nashville in 2003.
Here's a few shots of his Concours-winning 289 Cobra that he bought new at Gotham Ford in 1964 that I took at SAAC 28:
and here's Joe talking to Dennis Gage for My Classic Car:
Joe's old Cobra is now residing in Michigan, and still on a winning streak on the show circuit - an incredibly beautiful 289 Cobra.
Got to get down to Sarasota and meet up with you guys one of these days.
