Can not express in words how much fun the rally was. The people I have met these past 4 days are truly unique and as special as the car!
Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined how much fun I would have, even with out my car!!!
Thank you to all my new friends. I look forward to continuing our friendships .
Very special thanks to Tom and Jamal. I shall be smiling for a long time.

What an amazing trip to Las Vegas with the GT Forum group. Dave really put together a fantastic gathering. Thanks Dave for all your hard work and labor. I will have a GRIN forever! I know the group from the Houston area had a ball eventhough we can't get back home until Tuesday because of power outages. Our GIRLS left out of Vegas early this morning and I could hear giggling and laughing from the trailers. Hats off to you dave as well as the FORD group. Tomy Hamon PS as with Daniel LIFE IS GREAT!

The auction cars were all SOLD!

The yellow Nardo car went for $305k to one buyer.
The black 04 car was bought by a partnership of THREE forum members for $225k.
The blue car went for a steal for $155k to one forum buyer.

I will let them all chime in so as not to spoil the surprise, but how AWESOME is that? We now have 5 forum members who got the chance to own prototype Ford GT's that will undoubtedly be worth waaaaay more than they paid down the road. What an amazing piece of history that is! I can't believe we pulled this off for the forum. I really can't. This never happens. A total stunner.

I enjoyed meeting you all and putting a face to the name of so many of you that seems like I already knew you forever. Met sooo many awesome people and got to hang out with some of the best like cmoody, soroush, syco gt, waldo, BJ motor, ray hoffman , Jason heffner, fubar, racer x, DBK, Bony and MANY others. Met the MOOSES (great people), shelby#18 (ricks awesome!) and so on. Can't really find a place too stop so I will leave it at this..... I can honestly say I did not meet a single person I did not like and thats rare in a group this large. Love you guys!

Had a safe, smooth and fun drive home, arriving in So Cal this afternoon. Jones and I took turns alternating the front runner position with our black and white GT's. Many pleased faces along the way.

This morning as I left the hotel room, I bumped into a friendly house keeping attendant for my room at THEhotel. She called me formally by last name and said jokingly, "You have been missing in action the last couple days - nice to finally meet you" likely referring to the morning hours where I had made liberal use of the do not disturb sign, while recovering in my cave...

On the drive home, we encountered a Chevy Tahoe whose occupants must have spent some time at the Forty Deuce Bar at the Mandalay Bay, as they were sharing with us various displays of burlesque inspired talent while we drove next to and by them.

Never a dull moment with the GT.

For the past four days and nights, I have lived an amazing experience. Words really can't describe the complete and total enthusiasm and adrenaline that these cars generate. I absolutely cannot fathom a better ownership community and certainly cannot fathom a more rewarding masterpiece than the GT. The hospitality of fellow members was awesome.

These memories and friendships will truly last a lifetime. Thank you to all I met this Rally III for making it unmatchable.

I will post pics in the days to come. As for now, I am heading to the pool with my family, it was great to drive home and see them all in the driveway.

The economy may be rough, and times are hard for all, but seeing my family's smiling faces, after an incredible four days, right now, I feel like the luckiest man alive. Again, what an incredible time.

Thanks to Dave, Francesca, Camilo, Bony, the Ford GT Development team, and my fellow members for making Rally III exceed every possible expectation.

True. One of the Ford guys said they NEVER sell prototypes. This was an exception. I believe it was related to the charity, but not sure if I heard that or making it up in my head.

Yep Dave, it surely was!! :thumbsup A fantastic event, which always leaves you wondering what he will do to 'top it' the next year. Great from outset of the Wednesday dinner (Thanks Daniel!) all the way through to the Saturday enening auction at SAI -- so glad to see the those cars in the hands of forum members, I believe they will be very pleased with their investment. As great as the cars are, the forum memebership is a pretty special group.

A special note of thanks to Ford SVT and GT team members (past and present) who pulled together to coordinate a well run driving event at LVMS - no small acheivement, you guys did a fabulous job!

Francesca and Dave, enjoy your downtime - well done! :thumbsup

Oh yes, I almost forgot; Mr. Salenbauch, thank you for asking, the Cobra - build it! (delivered to us in vin# order of course) :wink

The total immersion method.

Gentlemen,

I contemplated life this morning while strapped into the cockpit of my yellow GT as it thundered away from Las Vegas toward Scottsdale at an effortless 110 mph. My windshield was filled with the sight of a six GT formation in front of me, and another three in my rearview mirror. The unmuffled Accufab exhaust was barking out a satisfying staccato that I found much more entertaining than anything available on my iPod. My son Charley (who couldn't get out of school and football so he flew up midday Saturday to attend the final night party) was sound asleep in the right-hand seat. I thought to myself................

All is right with the world. :banana :banana :banana :thumbsup :biggrin

About 30 miles south of Kingman our Ford GT formation crested a small rise on Highway 93 at triple digit speed and there sat an Arizona Highway Patrol car that lit up everybody's radar detector. Foot off the throttle we were still doing 90 mph in a 65 mph zone as we coasted by. We were all dead meat. The officer watched our entire formation sail past his cruiser but he didn't even bother to turn his lights on. He stayed put, and we kept moving. THAT.....gentleman, is clean living. :cheers
Thank you Dave and Francesca, for putting on another outstanding event. It is a fortunate group of individuals that get to experience both the Ford GT, and the amazing society of owners and enthusiasts that surround it.

Now..........

Don't we have an American Le Mans Series race coming up sometime soon on the West Coast that will require a gathering of the faithful? Oh yeah, Barrett Jackson in Scottsdale is coming up in a few months as well. :cheers

Great to see all my good friends.

Chip

Family and I are safe and back at home... Steph drove the GT home while timmy and I chased in the family car....

She was surrounded by to crotch rocket type bikes at one time.. egging her to put the pedal to the floor.. (she didn't) they gave her a thumbs up and went on their way..

Then she had two harley's give her thumbs up and a number of onlookers..

numerous Ford F trucks obviously but non-the less, It was her longest trip in the GT by herself and she had an amazing 270 mile + trip...

Thanks to all who contributed... we had a blast....

Thanks to all who came up and said hi because they recognized timmy from my pics..

It was great meeting all the new people we met and it was great running into old friends from the previous 2 rallies..

Safe travels to those who are still traveling and to those who are stuck because of IKE... Come to LA and wait it out... :cheers
