Had a safe, smooth and fun drive home, arriving in So Cal this afternoon. Jones and I took turns alternating the front runner position with our black and white GT's. Many pleased faces along the way.
This morning as I left the hotel room, I bumped into a friendly house keeping attendant for my room at THEhotel. She called me formally by last name and said jokingly, "You have been missing in action the last couple days - nice to finally meet you" likely referring to the morning hours where I had made liberal use of the do not disturb sign, while recovering in my cave...
On the drive home, we encountered a Chevy Tahoe whose occupants must have spent some time at the Forty Deuce Bar at the Mandalay Bay, as they were sharing with us various displays of burlesque inspired talent while we drove next to and by them.
Never a dull moment with the GT.
For the past four days and nights, I have lived an amazing experience. Words really can't describe the complete and total enthusiasm and adrenaline that these cars generate. I absolutely cannot fathom a better ownership community and certainly cannot fathom a more rewarding masterpiece than the GT. The hospitality of fellow members was awesome.
These memories and friendships will truly last a lifetime. Thank you to all I met this Rally III for making it unmatchable.
I will post pics in the days to come. As for now, I am heading to the pool with my family, it was great to drive home and see them all in the driveway.
The economy may be rough, and times are hard for all, but seeing my family's smiling faces, after an incredible four days, right now, I feel like the luckiest man alive. Again, what an incredible time.
Thanks to Dave, Francesca, Camilo, Bony, the Ford GT Development team, and my fellow members for making Rally III exceed every possible expectation.
