Wheel Bearing Hub

Dear members,
I noticed that on the both wheel bearing hubs (front) one bolt at a time was shortenend. (see pic) What reason could that be?

Somebody trying to use an incorrect lug nut?

Are you referring to the one in the front that has more thread? Both sides, correct? Is it possible this was for a locking hub nut?

That was a real head scratcher, but I think Tony nailed it. It was probable shortened to accommodate a wheel lock. Good one, Tony!

It's hard to tell in the picture but i don't know if the bolt is shorter or merely has more threads where the other ones have a shoulder.

Yes, the one in front with more thread on both sides.
The original nuts were installed when the vehicle was purchased

Yes, I replaced the wrong bolts.
