I was told by my delivery specialist that first oil change is at 5K miles unless you take it on the track. If you go to the track change oil before the event.

Ed
I think you should have took better notest Ed. they originally said you should change your oil at 600 miles. They've relaxed that 1000 +or - a few hundred miles. if you're not running the car hard a few extra miles either way shouldn't hurt anything.

The normal service intervals are 5,000 miles of normal driving or 2,500 hard driving at the Track etc.. I would not do my first oil change at 5000 miles.

With this expensive motor I don't think you'd want to wait no matter what they told you :)

Gentlemen,

I changed my oil at 600 miles and I just changed it again at 2900 miles because it's been over a year. Most members here would not change their oil but once every couple years if they waited 5000 miles. For some owners that would be every 10+ years!! Ace tech Brian at Sanderson Ford told me every 5000 miles after the first change or every year whichever comes first. Seems reasonable and pretty cheap insurance. 14 quart oil changes are expensive at $650 including labor but in the grand scheme of owning a new GT it's peanuts. Cheers.

I agree with Chip. I don't have a GT, but I do have a vehicle that gets driven rarely, and stored during the winter. I change the oil every year regardless of mileage. Oil is cheaper than engine rebuilds.

Attended the first cars and coffee of the season in west county St Louis this morning. GT was the hit of the parking lot and only car allowed 2 parking spaces to show off for pictures. Good weather and a lot of great comments , especially from the Porsche crowd. Later in the morning after the car parked next to me left a Bricklin pulled in. Huge crowd and I was hoarse after 4 hours. Was asked to join some exotic car club in the area. Not a bad day. Averaging 20 mpg.

Visited Knightka & Jiminee today in the Bay Area. They are still waiting to get their clear films done. We are ready to pass up Texas for number of GTs!

It was a Heritage sort of day in south Florida. Greatest collection of GT’s ever seen in the area. There were 7 new GT’s and 11 04-06’s GT’s.

Finally finished everything on the GT
The last to do was ceramic coating the wheels and fender wells
Now to drive the crap out of it

The GT forum was well represented at the first of 4 yearly Caffeine and Exotics car shows. This the same group that produces the Caffeine and Octane monthly car and TV shows. Great morning with Bill, Steven, Megan, Ryan, Donna and I with 4 different GTs.

Ironically, I didnt take any pictures of my car, just Gary's. But found this one online with the two of us.

This is the first time almost all these people have seen a NFGT, and Gary was a great brand ambassador. Quite the crowd gathers when you demonstrate track mode to people. More people interested in the GT than the McLaren Senna.

We met Ryan Hardwick, who drives a GTD car in the IMSA Weathertech series and has a nice black GT.

It's nice to finally get some forum participation in Atlanta. Found 2 other owners that never visit the forum. There are plenty of GTs here so maybe we can get something going
