Has anyone experienced slight warping of the rear clam shell's black lip/fin? Mine has a slight warp to it. But I realize I've got 19k miles and I live in AZ.

Would be nice to have this part available in billet or carbon fiber!

The Arizona guy that is wrapping interior parts in carbon fiber also does that piece but if it's already warped, it probably won't help.

Somebody needs to design a Viper ACR type wing for our cars.:biggrin

Thats a new one for me Shane! I'm surprised and a little disappointed I didn't notice it. What does the part itself look like? Anyone have a photo, detached from the rear of course...

Should be relativley easy to make an aluminum (or Titanium :biggrin) replacement.

I'll take a shot tonight.

I noticed it when I was really looking at the other clam shell vents that are warping so bad. It is definitely a separate part. But not sure how it's attached?

Going to ask the dealer about it tomorrow morning when I take it in for my last "under warranty" check up.

And Powder Coat it in flat black.:thumbsup

That is the plan.

I got mine replaced and painted under warranty. If I recall, once you remove the fasteners that holds that piece in place, it ruins the bolts and you'll end up having to replace the entire piece.

Someone should make a CF piece..and offer a version that is a little taller than stock.

Yes.

Mine was slightly warped when I took delivery of my car new but I have never had it fixed.

I'm not sure a larger wickerbill is advisable unless you want more downforce.

I took it into Ford today and they are taking pics to try and get multiple pieces replaced under warranty. If that request is denied...I'm moving on to billet top & side vents and potentially CF for this piece.

I was told through a PM that one of the vendors on the forum may be working on a CF replacement for this part.

Anyone want to confirm that?

More downforce == slower top end speed....and therefore creates a need and justification to upgrade to a Whipple.

I just heard from Ford...they are replacing all 3: Clamshell top and side vents, as well as rear "lip" / spoiler - UNDER WARRANTY. Just made it...as the warranty is up next month.

I'm sure I'll need some billet parts and/or CF at some point when those warp again!
