I would presume if there are no symptoms by now (circa 9 years) on our GTs we have jumped the hurtle . Have there been reported cases regarding this issue on this forum?

I was alerted to this by an owner of an '05 Mustang and is starting to see symptoms.

Where are the symptoms? Which panels are aluminum?

Unless his car was wrecked and repaired around the aluminum panel, then I could understand.

Ford has been talking this up a lot to us because of the new 150.

Yes, many owners have seen this, usually very small areas. Our GT's have lots of aluminium bits: roof, ¼ panels, doors

I have some minor occupancies on the B pillar.

I thought I saw on the Mustang forum that the problem was related to the handling (without gloves) of the hoods before paint and that fingerprints caused the failures.

We discussed this on another thread somewhere. I had a 2006 Mustang GT with the aluminum hood. It was original, and I got corrosion started at the leading edge. It ran up under the paint and caused exfoliation.

I had this happen on a 2008 Expedition on both the edge of the hood and on the tailgate which were the two aluminum pieces on the vehicle. It occurred after the warranty expired and Ford paid half the cost of repair.
