I am trying to adapt the Stillen front license plate bracket system to our cars, does anyone know the thread size of the front tow hook block? I cannot find it in the manual. Thanks.

Why don't you just get the tow hook out of the inflator/sealer box in the trunk and measure it?

:confused

Remember it's left hand threaded.

Why don't you make a bracket that mounts between the chin spoiler and the bottom of thre radiator facia.

Look at Nielda's car...

BTW - That was one of the first things I did when I left Illinois - trashed my front license plate...

tow hook

the car is on the garage lift and the forcast is rain for the next few days. After that I can measure it. I just thought someone might know. Keeps me busy during crappy weather.

I did look at a bracket mounted off the chin spoiler and may still go that route but it had to be pretty wide to pick up good mounting points.

...and a bracket mounted there would decrease your ground clearance by the thickness of that bracket as well...and every little bit COULD matter in some situations!:willy:willy:willy

I keep a front license plate bracket in the trunk for emergencies and bi-annual inspection. I used the tow hook block hole, but didn't use the thread. I just used a threaded rod that slips through the hole and secured it with a nut/washer on the front side and a wingnut/washer on the back side. I adapted an inexpensive universal license plate holder to the threaded rod, such that the holder just barely clears the front bumper. Can be erected and removed in less than a minute.

I found a neat front plate hack for my 911 from these folks:
http://moweraxle.com/
Just contacted them to make another one, this time with the appropriate reverse thread for the FGT. I like having it for the same reasons Howard cited. I expect to receive it in the next day or two. I also pinged them to see if a group deal was possibe - in case some of you are interested. I'll keep you posted.

Count me in on this if your's works out well for you (as far as the way it fits and the way the 'plate CLEARS everything once it's mounted, blah, blah, blah...).

All I've seen from Kendall was the rear plate spacer (not that I need one but a confererate flag up front would look good :lol)

- but it doesn't mean that when he gets on it it won't happen fast!:thumbsup

Yes, Stormcat told me you were inquiring about the new carbon fiber hood with a rebel flag paint job.

Sure like the mower stands.... I would buy one. But sadly don't own a mower. The shame of it all. :)

Ditto. Far as I know, only the rear plate offset thingie. Very handy though.
I'll post some pics of the other end when it arrives.
