In a late entry the Mountune backed Ford GT will be racing at Brands Hatch tomorrow in the 2 hour British GT race. Regular "Gentleman" driver Peter Bamford has teamed up with Thomas Mutsch to drive the car. Peter's regular co-driver is Team RPM (and car) owner Alex Mortimer, however Alex is contracted to race for CRS in a Ferrari 458 Italia - which is housed in the next door garage....

Thomas has put the car 7th on the 30 car grid. I'll be there tomorrow and will report how they get on.

There'll be another opportunity to see the Ford GT on the Brands Hatch GP circuit on July 24th. We have around 15 Ford GTs coming down to share the day with us and enjoy some hospitality courtesy of Mountune.

Race is in a few hours. Fingers crossed. Qualified 7th. Ferrari 458 Italias are fantastic at this circuit, and with top drivers also. Thomas and Peter have their work cut out.

Well it didn't quite go to plan.... As you can see from the photogenic heavy skies in Steve's fantastic shots the weather this weekend has been very changeable, from dry to wet and back again quicker than you can change tyres.
The race was started by Peter on slicks as it was damp but drying. This being a two hour race the driver change window opens at 50 minutes in. The rain arrived like a monsoon at about 40 minutes in. A number of people were caught out by the sudden lack of grip and somewhere out in the more scenic part of the Grand Prix circuit Peter left the track with some front end damage. A great shame Thomas didn't get the chance to show what he could do. Still that's motor racing and the car will be fixed ready to race at Spa in a weeks time.

Great to meet up with Steve Nesta again - thanks for the super photos and thanks for the support from the Forum. We'll keep you posted about our next outings.

Sorry things didn't work to plan, but as you say, that's racing.

Keep us posted, please, on your future efforts! It's grat keeping up with the racing heritage the new GT's are building in classes and events around the world.

Steve - What can I say! Great shots, all! I think I like the one of Thomas (lucky #13) best.

Sorry for your mishaps!

A lot of us were fortunate enough to watch Thomas in the rain at VIR last September, and he is absolutely awesome. Too bad the rain didn't hold off 'til his stint started.

Good luck at Spa, and we'll be rooting for you - :thumbsup

(PS - 4 posts to go!)
