$1,599,000 for a "new" Ford GT with 452 miles?

OC Welch has a long and illustrious history of attaching outrageous prices to his Ford GTs to draw attention to them, while ultimately selling for significantly less. I don't think this car is even actually for sale and just remains as a promotional tool for the dealership. They sold off a large number of their other GTs in recent years.

You gotta admit, it is an attention getter!:eek

A couple of years ago every GT the dealership owned was on eBay as a bulk sale for something like $3,500,000.

Wow ok...haha.....market manipulation.....cool.......

I don't think he was trying to manipulate the market, just trying to get something up that he thought (and correctly so) would get attention. Mission accomplished again!

OK....but I do remember one of the brands doing this a while back, specifically to move the rpice.....I think it was the Cobra group, but it sure sounds like a Ferrari thing......

He did the same thing - same ad a few months ago and gradually reduced the price over a few weeks. I think it was even the same car. There was a thread here about that a while back about it.

I'd give 1.6 large for that matte black car... if I had it.

I called him a few weeks ago. He said he was going to keep it. I think he just likes doing this for some reason.

Haha Good attention getter!

Maybe he fell out of his helicopter, on his head.
