The Price was Right!

So I pulled the trigger and bought a new 08 GT500KR from a small dealership in Dodge City Kansas.

Fun car to drive thought the seats do leave a bit to be desired. OK for the drive home, but would have liked a more GT-like seat in the KR with that kind of performance potential.

With 540hp and 3.73 gears, tires seem to smoke if I even think about accelerating.

Sparco Seats for KR

Sparco made a set of seats for one of are Mustangs here at Ford Racing.
Very similar to the GT seat. Fit and function wise.
Check Sparco they may offer that seat now as a aftermarket item for Mustang. I'll check with my sparco rep. get the inside skinny on the seats we have. FRPP never release them, But he my have made other sets.

Thanks Dale, I'll look at both Sparco and FRPP. FYI - I'm guessing either are going to be somewhat less than the ~$8000 per seat Ford quotes for our GT seats. (Thanks Shelby, but I'm guessing even a smokin hot deal for your GT seats will be more than I want to spend on this project.) So... GT seats in a KR - just a bad idea on my part...

Also found out that Shelby has an interior upgrade kit (to preserve the originality) that appears to include bigger / better bolsters.

You made a very wise investment, KR 40th anniversary is an excellent keeper. Keep it out of the snow, drink Coors in the winter and bring it out in the Spring.
