Hello all, my name is Nick, I am new to the community here. A close friend of mine, Abel, will be taking delivery of his Midnight Blue w/white stripes Ford GT tommorow. He usually browses forums but he isnt to forum friendly so he usually asks me to post things for him. He just sold his Viper about 6 months ago, and his GT2 he sold last week. The Ford GT is going to be the newest addition to his stable. Were going to be pretty active in the So Cal GT community so I just wanted to make a post on here and introduce myself. If anyone has suggestions for preventive maintenance or any "need to know" info when breaking in the Ford GT your info is appriciated! I will post pics tommorow after he has taken delivery. Thanks!

-Nick

see this link; print out and hand out:

In general:

-Make sure you are starting in 1st gear; slightly left off-center
-practice left turns, in driveway; huge A-Pillar view blockage and blindspot
-practice merging left
-practice backing up; rear diffuser will hit curbs
-front hood and rear camshell might need a little getting use to, to close
-to open front hood; hold silver release on fender out, while lifting hood
-front filler cap, same (should 'pop" up)
-ease gas nozzle in spout hole; self closing top.
-doors might take firm close
-otherwise keep it under 4000 rpm for fitst 1K mi.
-some people think the stock car cover is a little rought and order a tan flannel for covercraft/CA car covers

Enjoy -- the first day of ownership is a rush!

under 4k rpm for a thousand miles?

Hey good luck with that?

Soounds like the theory of birth control by pullin out at the just before.

I think couple hundred miles or 2hours of different type's of roads and I was on it!!!

Other than that your post hits some great things to be aware of.

Welcome and enjoy it!

Well we just took the car to Enrico over at MIS in Mira Mesa. He is putting the clear 3m protection on a few parts of the car, after that I will get the pictures. He loves the car, and I couldnt believe at how well the car feels and handles, its amazing, even though I am not the owner I feel like I have experienced owning one since I have been there through the whole process, such an awesome car.

Congrats on the new baby!

Approximately how much does the 3M film cost installed, and how much coverage?

Thanks!
