I am in the process of installing the T&A lower kit and was looking over the A arms and ball joints. The Ball joints appear to be press fitted into the A arms and not easily replaceable. I found a post on the net on replacing a MB ball joint that is also press fitted. It was really painfull procedure without the right custom tools.

The service manual doesn't have anything on replacing the ball joints.

I was told by "The GT Guys" that the ball joint and the control arm are sold as an assembly; the ball joint is not serviced as a solo item

As I recall GT Saver Jay just replaced the assembly that I described.

Yes, Bill is correct on this. I would like to replace the ball joint on my "spare" A-arm. I do not mind machining the tooling for doing this procedure. I will be asking a Ford truck mechanic soon, as I am hoping that this is a common ball joint, anyone know?? Thanks, Jay

Yikes! Can you imagine the shortage of A arms and the cost for them in 20 years! The A arms are a nice light design, but definately not made for easy maintainance or repair. 30 years ago most cars had lube ports and were replaceable by removing rivets or bolts. I can see a future with a lot of 3rd party parts for the GT when these cars age.
