Hi Shadowman,
I also received my sub enclosure and am very extremely pleased with what I took from the box. Great craftsmanship (please let Ash know I really appreciate the work he put into the creation of these pieces). I should be installing the enclosure this coming weekend, and am already looking forward to it. If I were to give the enclosure a number grade, I'd probably put it at 95out of 100. Please understand as beautiful as it is, there were two areas that I thought could have even have been better. (I must tell you that I'm a "Type A" kind of guy, so take the following comments with a grain of salt). The first thing was that I was a bit surprised that the outer insulation (sheathing) of the wiring was blue in color rather than black. This was corrected with a molecular bonding black paint intended for vinyl and other like properties. The other thing was that the wire ends weren't fitted with the correct terminal ends to simplify the install (plug and play if you will). I did order the proper terminal ends, and if others doing the modification need the information here it is:
Description Molex Number Mouser Number Digi-Key Part #
1) Mini Fit, Jr Receptacle

2) Mini Fit, Jr Plug

4) New Mini Fit Conn (M) 39-00-0096 538-39-00-0096 WM5963-ND
The project calls for:
1 of item 1 to be used to connect sub enclosure lead to the amplifier.
2 of item 3 to be used in the item 1 terminal connection.
1 of item 2 to be used to connect the lead inside the enclosure to the subwoofer.
2 of item 4 to be used in the item 2 terminal connection
With the incorporation of these simple parts, the termination of the original connections can all be retained (left completely stock) to simplfy a reverse procedure in the event one were to ever want to take the system back to its original state. But why??
I hope this nitpicking doesn't make me sound ungratefull, because again I love the craftsmanship of the sub enclosure and the efforts that were extended to bring it to fruition.
ARCJoe,
When you post your listing of materials required for the the transformation, together with the recommended installation procedure, maybe you could include the information on the terminal ends required to have a true plug and play system.
Just my second post and I see that this is alredy too long, my aplogies.
