GT Guys and Gals (if there are any): My recently purchased 2005 GT has a tendency for the steering wheel adjuster lever to loosen up. A bit unnerving the first few times, but I'm getting used to it (not a good thing though) and regularly reaching down to push it up. I don't have the shop manual yet. Is this a common complaint, and is it easy to tighten up, or a PITA to do?

TIA,

To the best of my knowledge you could be the first. Call the GT Guys.

Never heard of this. Since it operates like most of the other Ford models, any Ford dealer should be able to give it a look and fix.

I believe the column is from a Focus

The service manual is no help. The locking lever is part of the column and no adjustment is mentioned.

The lower shroud comes off with 3 screws, so you could take a look.

FWIW, the locking lever "feel" is the same as any other I've used.
