Hi all,

Hope I post this in the right place, otherwise please move the thread.

As you all know, we must now spend most of our time at home... Just sharing with you what I did on my side with the hours I had

So just got a white 1:18 Ford GT, and made it carbon It's not the exact replica of the liquid carbon car presented at the Chicago auto show, as I preferred to have some color. Enjoy !

Still have to do the mirrors, but they won't change the overall result that much

Still working on the rear view mirrors? Even full size my clear bra installer struggled.

Thanks a lot for you comment. Yes, I think that some color makes it nicer

For the mirrors, I haven't started them now. I think I will do them with 3 carbon decal section (top, inner side, bottom) to avoid wrinkles. Won't be super easy as they are small, but I think it won't be harder than the buttress area

I will do a picture once they are done and mounted.

Yup been there done that.... These suckers are NOT made to come apart. I started with silver, as it was the 1st I came across with black wheels. Didnt take apart the butresses, carefully masked off the intercooler grills, and mirror arms Much easier with out stripes. LOTS of light coats. Lots of clear. All "rattle can", no cheating with having it done in a booth (ha).

Yes, really need practice to not break parts when removing them I would also have keep the buttress on the model for a regular repaint. But for the carbon foil, I really needed to have them removed.

Yeah worked out well, also allows you to also do this I cant stand the amber. The red in the back is fine as it matches the tail lights:

Was far trickier that I expected, as if you look at the top, there are LED's in there.
