As I pull into my office parking lot today, I see the barbershop (yes, the barbershop) has a 2001 Modena for sale parked out front. A complete placard/writeup is on the passenger seat stating it is a 2001 with about 6000 miles, 6 spd, red, etc., $140,000. Now, just looking at Ebay for 30 seconds, I found eleven 2001 360s, some were Spyders, from a BIN $89,000 to $120,000+, but nobody near $140,000, (the Hinsdale, IL Ferrari dealer has similar '01 with the F1 tranny for $11Gs less).
I don't know the fellow selling it, and the car looks perfect, but I think he's in for a rude awakening.

I sold my 2001 360 coupe over a year ago with F1 trans, Daytona seats, shields etc. for 127,000. About 13,000 miles.

I have been offered a few 430s in the 150s range...amazing how fast these fell. Even low mile cars 05 or 06 430s are in the 160 range AND DONT SELL!

In a few months if things get worse i.e. Obama gets elected, higher taxes on the horizon, employment rate increasing, investors running for cover the prices will drop further. If you have the money I bet you can pick up a real bargain.

Shelby, what say you????

I will be a buyer if the Fcars get cheaper than what they are at now. A 430 at 130k is a steal. Maybe in 6 months?

I would suspect that the FGT will hold up better than any other production car. That said, I expect even the FGT prices to soften up some in the coming months. Maybe we can thank Obama for that too.

My thought too. In a month or so if things really go in the chitter and the 430 drops significantly or I can pick up a KR500 at cost, fear be damned...I'm in!:thumbsup

Actually, I am getting a bigger demand for the more rare colors, but the more common colors such as the white and the red have slumpped a little, but I stress the word "LITTLE"

Shelby,

I know that you have your ear to the rail regarding the exotic market. On a scale of 1-10, ten being most leery, where would you rank dealers right now when they are offered an F430 on trade? Are they the poisonous fruit right now? As a former F430 owner, I'm curious.

Seems to me like F dealers are b/w a rock and a waiting list......

On the one hand they have 1-2yr old cars with dramtically falling values; and bottleneck waiting list for cars at MSRP north of 1 yr.

The 6 NE F dealers were still deluding themselves with attitude....when people walk away from their deposits (like @x-mas) the bottom will fall out

599's are in freefall

From Ferrarichat.com

The market for second hand cars in Europe has collapsed. I can't even sell a Scuderia at list. Anyone in the US paying over MRSP now is absolutely nuts.

Speaking of basement prices and dead car sales, I wonder how quickly I'll be pounced on @ Chapman Chev when pop in next month & head for those 4 ZR1's they supposedly have sitting on the floor down there? :frown

Mebbe if I wear my "Daddy do list" work clothes when I go in there it'll save us ALL a lotta wasted time. :biggrin (That 'garb' almost always transforms me into the 'invisible man' in 'dealer showrooms! To most people I look like I left my, " Homeless. Anything helps", sign just outside the door. IT WORKS GREAT! :lol)
