Shifter Boot Question

My shift boot ring won't seat...the allen key bolts just turn w/o moving the anchor discs to properly secure the ring.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

That must be the aftermarket boot from Exoticare...not the OEM boot.

I think Ralph is correct.....I had the same challenge with my Exoticare boot....if you hold your tongue juuuust right ,you'll get it!

I followed the instructions but I finally just locked it down and ran through the gears and if there was interference turned it a little. You'll figure out if it is CW or CCW based on if things get better or worse :)
 
I had a lot of trouble getting mine to fit. In the end, I had to file away most of the inner lip to reduce it to the three retainers and then cut one of those back to get the clearance. However, once on, it has stayed in place very well. After a bunch of measuring I found that the tunnel casting was a bit rich and no amount of fiddling would make the ring fit. Rather than filing the tunnel cover, filing the ring was a better option.
