My daugter got me a pack of Sham-Wow's for Christmas. They look/ feel like soft Chamois. Made in Germany. Does anyone have any experience with them? Anyone used them on the FGT's? Will they harm the finish?

Micro fibers dont dry/absorb, but they are GREAT for polishing or a quick wipe-down
I am curious how well the shaw-WOWS work also.....

Thanks guys...
I use the microfiber products for all my polish/waxing etc --when the car is dry- spray wax etc.
I suspect the Sham-wow would 'hurt' the finish if used dry.

I would only use the Sham-wow for the sudsing hand wash and as a chamois when the car is totally wet and covered with all the 'beaded water' after the final rinse.
I will not be washing the car again until spring, but wondered if anyone had used these...
yes...I have seen all the commercials!

"it was invented by the Germans - and you know how Germans build stuff" is the famous tag line on that commercial....:rofl

My only hesitation would be based on any residual treatment left in the towels when new.... Can you machine wash them first?

Sham-Wow Never

I would refuse to buy the things no matter how good they might be just because they have bombarded my email address with junk mail advertising them. I have been getting something like 100 or so junk mails a day from these As#@oles for the last couple of months from random generated email addresses so I cant block them. Anyone who uses blast junk emails like that is on my sh%t list. They clog up the entire internet with that crap and suck productivity out of society across the globe.

What I have learned:
1. never give these guys your home e-mail
2. rinse out the sham-wow first use...(it says to rinse out by hand 2-3 times)
3. they are machine washable and bleachable--let air dry only
4. I don't own an air compressor big enough to blow off my whole car.
5. will check out some of the other products listed.
6. I will let you guys know in the spring how they worked.

Happy new year!...hope to see many of you at Rally 4 (as soon as announced)

re Sham Wows: I asked a few friends who have used them - the consensus was that they did not like them, and that they do not hold water when trying to dry a car.
