H wanted me to tell you that the Robertson Racing two Ford GT's are in Sebring for a Michelin tire test today & tomorrow. They will also be at the ALMS "Wheels Down" test next week then some time on the Ford/Roush seven post rig in Charlotte. The team has also submitted their entry for the 24 hours of LeMans for both cars.

Thanks,
HJJ

Very exciting news about LeMans! I hope the applications are accepted and that we'll be there to support Ford GTs at LeMans again in 2011!

If you need / want help with logistics at LeMans, I know a guy who's been there before.

The cars looked and sounded great, it will take a little getting used to those bigger front wheels and tires- makes the front look as beefy as the back. I know with all the upgrades, the extra tests will help. Try to get Dave M. to let us know how the new ride feels. Wished I could stay another day, to see those times come down. See you at the next test.

I thought I would start a new thread to keep the members informed on what Robertson Racing's 2011 plans were in next years ALMS series.

First up, were pleased to announce that we will be running both cars on Michelin tires next year.

We look forward to keeping you up to date on the going's on with our little team and look forward to meeting up with those who can make it to the races next year.

Cheers,
H

If you have a website, post a link to your site so we can keep up with the team.

We had our first Michelin test Tuesday and Wednesday at Sebring. The tires are great, very consistant. We should be able to run consistant lap times during the entire race. We worked on optimizing the car setup for the new tires. We learned a lot about what the car likes. Andrea and Dave both went quicker than they ever have at Sebring and that is with the taller wing gurney. The team worked really hard to get the cars on track those days and now are preparing for the official ALMS test next week. I am looking forward to running with other ALMS cars to see how we stack up.

And right after the ALMS test it's off to Charlotte for some time on the Ford/Roush seven post rig to work on some different things. We have a nice base line from our visit there in early January. A nice story over at Planet LeMans about our 2011 plans.

Great news!!

One entry (GTE-AM) Dave & Andrea Robertson (+TBA) has been accepted for this years LeMans 24 Hrs!

The second GTE-Pro entry (Murry/Lazzaro +TBA) is the first reserve entry!

An American Team racing the iconic Ford GT will return to LeMans this year!

This will make the testing load scheduled for today and tomorrow at Sebring a little lighter! More later!

Great news about Lemans, I am going to be at LeMans this year. Will we get some kind of pit access?

Thanks for the kind words on our LeMans entry. And Mullet, we will try to work something out. But honesty, right now I do not know what that will be. I thought I would post a link to our Facebook page for some pictures taken yesterday during testing. I also thought that I would break some news here, we hope to have Boris Said driving with Dave and Andrea in the #40 Piolti car. He was bloody quick yesterday for his first time driving the Ford GT.

Boris, seems to be pretty quick, in anything he pedals! Great addition to the team if it pans out!

Now that we have two cars running, not only will Dave and Andrea get more seat time but we will get twice the data in the same time. We had a baseline from last year at Sebring for setup. The car was pretty good so now we are tweaking it from there. We went in one direction with the shocks on the #04 car and a more conservative direction in the #40 car. The #40 car direction panned out to be the best and an improvement over last year’s valving. We copied the #04 for car but only got to try 1/2 of the setup before we ran out of time at the test. Boris went quick in the #40 car and Anthony was in our car with the same setup at the end of the last day of testing when we ran out of time. His lap according to the data would have matched the #40 car so we are good with both cars. Now we still have a whole list of other things to try that we will get to at the week of Sebring race. The proof is in Dave/Andrea's lap time too. They are both running really quick times. Boris was blown away at how quick they went. We are all very excited about this year and now that Le Mans is a reality it is the icing on the cake. Anthony and I haven't been to LeMans in about 10 years and we both can't wait. It will be great to have the gang from Ford GT Forum there. You guys will have to create a section and pull for us. By the way, the paddle shift system has spoiled me rotten. Just pull it back with your pinky when you want to downshift, AND you can do it while you are turning in!
