I should keep my mouth shut .... however ...... IMO Reggie does nothing for the secondary car market but use it as one of the few financial vessels that for some odd reason places value by his name.

Now what I should have said was simply; "interesting or great"

So, does this mean when or IF I ever (NEVER) sell my car that because I wanted to be a baseball legend my car will be worth more, right?????

He is not as accessible as most celebrity car guys.

Most often when he is, he is selling (ie, on B-J auctions).

His collection is not awe inspring (numbered over 100 at one point); its a mix of muscle and some 70s/80s generics.

Maybe Reggie bought/sold Nicolas Cage's GT for him to help him out of his financial mess? Ha.

I'm a celebrity?

I sold a car to Reggie Jackson several years ago only to see it again at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale with a sign in the window of the car that read "Celebrity Owned" :banana I turned to a friend and said "Well, I never thought of myself as a celebrity" His reply, "Yea, and no one else does either" I would guess it was not me they were refering to. I'm still not sure though.:biggrin

"celebrity" cars, for me mean NOTHING unless that celeb... was someone that brought something to "the brand". AKA. Reggie Jackson car ... he's just another guy that had his butt in the driver's seat. Michael Schumaker F430 ... well, since he basically consulted on the entire build of the car .... value. Shelby in a Ford .. value. Camillo's Gt ... value. Brad Pitt's car ... well I might pull the passenger seat cause either Jen Aniston or Angie Jolie's butt was in it but .... :lol

Hey I loved Reggie as a kid and have a signed sports illustrated on my wall of him (but I don't particularly like the yankees anymore or even baseball for that matter, only a rabid NFL fan now).

Go #44!

For whatever it's worth, I've met the man and seen his "personality" in action with others.

Come to think of it, I'll leave it at that.

The only celeb I would put value to his name as a prior owner would be Steve McQueen or maybe Paul Newman. They were class acts and true enthusiasts.

Most of the rest are just IMHO dysfunctional rich libs that buy cars not becasue they are enthusiasts but because they want the latest status symbol.

Reggie Jackson owed it. Two words. Who cares. :bored
