Atomic. I was diagnosed with the same condition many years ago. I am still going to jump through hoops to make this one. But I agree. Its like running in place man. no matter how much money you make, in the end nothing is left. Just dealt with my CPA and it was depressing and next year will be the real kick in the __s. All in top braket in California we will pay 59%!!! ohh yes I just recently heard about the O. phone!!! Is that really true???

The condition only grows worst over time. The only known cure is a drastic change of climate.

There are some places with a better climate where you need an air-conditioner more than a jacket. :lol

Well, I am honored to contribute to my retired and semi-retired GT brothers to SS and Medicare. That is one of the pleasures I have in this great country along with knowing that every little schekel I give the government, may provide some assistance to my GT brothers in crossing the country to enjoy the bounty of the left coast. Bear in mind, the countrysides are marvelous around Napa, a concerted effort to arrange some FGTs on Vista point at north end of Golden Gate would make a great calendar photo, SF is probably not the best place to bring a GT in for some crusing, no parking, tons of tourists, busses, traffic, hills, etc. However, cruising the Sierra passes, Hwy 49, Murphys, Columbia, Twain Harte, Sonora, Kit Carson Pass (Hwy 88-89 to Lake Tahoe), I-80 across the Sierras, Hwy 4 Ebbett's Pass, and Tioga Pass, Yosemite are killers for scenery, as Professor Ed described.

One of my favorite spots is the Oakville grocery, just south of Napa with the appropritate libation, cheese, bread, and salami and sitting outdoors in the back looking at the vineyards, wondering what less fortunate individuals do for entertainment. Living the Dream! Plus there is Sonoma, Healdsburg, Calistoga, Silverado Trail, nearly 300 wineries in Napa alone, Alexander Valley, Bodega Bay, Petaluma, goes on and on. Some of you may not go back to your previous existence!

Healdsburg(Alexander Valley Wineries) and Sonoma are my two favorite towns in NorCal. Remember gentlemen "Sonoma makes wines, Napa makes auto parts". If one must venture into Napa county, Calistoga Castle(121,000 square feet with 107 rooms with four separate levels underground and four levels above) and Mario Andretti's Winery would be great points of interest.

Have Fun Gentlemen!!!

Sounds like a perfect plan to me Dave:thumbsup - Thanks to the team behind the planning :thumbsup

I love track days - but I enjoy meeting up with great car friends more ..... and with no track time, I won´t have to listen to Rocketman trying to tell me what I am doing wrong at the wheel :wink

I´ll definately try to make it to the Pre-Rally @ Chips as that would be the perfect start to a great Rally 8 - Maybe I can even convince the wife to come along ....

.... now I need to figure out what car to buy .... think it´s time for a Boss :biggrin

See you in September

:cheers

Something for the women (maybe some of the men too?...who am I to judge?) in Calistoga.

Mud baths! Calistoga is a great little town. Some excellent restaurants for its size.

Anders -

If you don't get a car, you're welcome to ride along with me (unless Piccola decides to come, of course.)

It would be a pleasure to have you with me again!

I'm not going to be able to make it - that pesky day job - but I will vouch for InterCity. They are the only ones that have moved my Shelby GT, Cobra and Ford GT. I consider who my roommates on the truck are, and one time was a 300SL gullwing (with the Cobra) and the GT came with a 300SL Roadster. On the GT truck was also a daily driver Z06 and a Bentley. Judge the transporter by the company your car keeps :)

IMPORTANT Change!~!!!!

We are sorry to report that there is a change in dates for the Rally. California poses some challenges but the Rally will be fabulous as the roads/driving, scenery, comradeship, San Francisco, wineries, ocean, mountains, weather, etc will overpower the rest! It will be a memorable Rally. We guarantee it!

Rally 8 will be Tuesday Sept 3 to Saturday Sept 7 at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa.

http://www.fairmont.com/sonoma

The block of rooms are available now & we recommend you to make reservations now. If you wait you may not be staying at the Fairmont with all of us. Napa/Sonoma is very popular in the fall so don't procrastinate.

800-441-1414 "Ford GT Forum" $269/night which is great as the regular rate is closer to $400/night (IndyGT will tell you!)

Again, we apologize if this has caused an convenience to anyone. We are now set & ready to go! Details to follow soon. Rally sign up list soon also.

Rally VIII Ed

PS After this Rally I will let DBK do everything on his own as it is too much work & stress! How did he do it for 7 other Rallies?
