Nice work.
You may or may not know this but just make sure that you put the new foam padding, around all of the edges, in between every piece of the cooling module. This way the air will be forced to go through every part allowing maxmium cooling. If the foam is not there the air will leak out and around the radiators and not function properly.

hi rich and thanks for the input - i put foam between fan assy and engine radiator but did not realize it needs to be between intercooler and radiator ! i assume you are saying it needs to be there also ? what about across the top and bottom edges ?

thanks

Yes it needs to be inbetween every part of the module on the sides. There are 2 pieces of rubber that close out the top and bottom. I have attached a pic to show the complete assembly. Sorry for the photoshop but I have to protect the innocent? Anywas make sure that you put the hard plastic air deflectors in front of the a/c condensor before you go much farther.

If you don't mind me asking, how long have you been working on her Steve? Looks like she has kept you busy! Can't wait to see the finished project.

i have had the car in the garage about ten months now but i had quite a time
procuring all the parts so i have been at rebuilding it in the evenings and on the weekends for the last several months now - as far as procuring the parts, it wasnt that they werent available as they were, it was deciphering the parts pages i have which ford has a really strange parts system (if you are not familiar with it) there are a lot of small items not in the parts break downs etc... and all the fasteners use the same part number but are differentiated (sp) depending on which page they are on - so i have spent countless hours trying to figure out what i need, especially since a lot of items were missing
and i must say kudos to ford as i have ordered probably in excess of a hundred items and only
one part is on backorder and it has no delivery date so i am going to try and get it off a wrecked car

Thanks for the info Steve. I am a little familiar with the Ford's part system as I have been tinkering with my car a little. I have taken my front facia off now a few times as I have installed a C&R racing radiator and C&R H/E on my car. There are indeed a myriad of fasteners and I stripped a few...trying to get new ones can be frustrating.

yes i realized that now that everything is painted, luckily i have the front facia on temporarily just so it can get its memory (shape) while im not working on her the next few days (heading to supercross in new orleans for the weekend) so ill be off here the next few days too - everyone have a good weekend - plus when i am away from her for a few days it helps me think of how to do certain tasks and remember the things i forgot to do

and beleive me i keep smiling everytime i go in the garage now that i see her starting to take shape - dont mind admitting ive had some days it seem really overwhelming !!!

Steve,

Enloy New Orleans. I know exactly what you mean about stepping back and clearing your head. I come up with some of my best ideas in the shower.

I just returned from a 2 day golf trip to N.O. and it was a blast.

Since Ricky retired from Supercross just not the same with Bubba being so dominant.

hey larry - really you are correct about bubba's dominance however his crashes have he and chad reed still battling for the points lead - but ricky was the best of the best

Steve,

Looks like really first class work on a gigantic project. Well done!

Perhaps you can help me with something a lot simpler that I need to do, but I want to make sure I don't screw it up. I need to pull the right front wheel, and I have read a bunch of threads that seem to have conflicting info about lifting the car, and use of jack stands. I believe I understand where the right places are to use a jack, but what about the jack stand? Your picture seems to show a stand under the right front suspension, but some of the threads say NOT to put anything under the suspension control arms?

I am embarassed to ask the question, but would rather ask than to bend something by doing something stupid. I have read about things getting bent due to improper jacking/lifting, and I don't want to go there.

Any info you or others could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and good luck with the rest of your project. I'm sure the arrival of spring will give you added incentive to get her done and on the road.
