Programming Blip Throttle Downshifts?

C7 MT has it. Is it software only? Trans/shift linkage sensor(s)?

We have blip start. Why not blip downshift too? It would be cool if the tuner geeks could retrofit this.

Now I will pre-empt all the "learn to heel-toe" (or ball-ball, etc.) replies by saying that is the answer to a question not asked. :wink

My dear Edward the Purist, I'm just curious how it works. Cut me a little slack here. :lol

Sounds like you're interested in more than just an intellectual exercise. I know of several flappy-paddle GTR's you could buy if you're tired of blipping your own throttle:lol

I know the "rev match" which can be turned on or off works very well but it does seem unnatural at first.

Since we do not have electronic throttle blades do they have an throttle body air bypass system to generate the blip?

It would be a bit of work but you can install a cruise control system like Mark McGowan has and then something like this box to control the CCS.

I am use to kidders, jokers, naysayers. And I am always happy to provide you with amusement. :) However, I would bet big bucks I could sell a ton of blip throttle downshift kits here. The only small problem is I am just a concept guy. No ability to follow through. :frown

BTW, I dare you to aim that at McGowan for having cruise control. hahahaha!

I drove a Nissan Z car with the rev match feature and, admittedly, it was trick.

You know how many C7 drivers are going to turn it off?

Zero. And they are the hero few who are trying to help us "Save the Manuals!"

OOPS! I didn't mean to quote myself. :/

Well there is your only answer. But there's a hitch, for it t work both clutch and brake have to be in and some some downshifts happen with no brake(only a lift). Porsche cup cars do have a mechanical blipping push rod connected to the shift lever, although it's sequential and works going forward only. I'm afraid, you'll have to learn to heel-toe like the rest of us. It's fun.

FWIW McGowan is the only one to my knowledge that has cruise control.

I just had throttle blip software installed on my CLK Black Series. While it is great with paddle shifters, I would not want it with a manual.

I've seen Xcentric drive. He's more of a Heel and Tow guy.
