Hi everyone!
Thanks to everyone who made the last two days at the track and at the Hyatt a blast!
I changed up the route from being a little longer and more scenic (which down here is nice, but not spectacular) because I think everyone seems like they hit it pretty hard at Nola Motorsports Park. We're going to have a 10:30 AM departure out to the Houmas House plantation. They will begin serving lunch at 12 noon, but will serve food as people arrive if it's a little later. They do have a large wedding later in the evening and we'll need to be fully cleared out by 2 pm, so please do not arrive too late. Getting there early is not a problem because the grounds are definitely tour worthy. After lunch I highly recommend following the route to the Oak Alley Plantation to grab a mint julep and see a more historically accurate plantation.
For tomorrow evening, Nola Motorsports Park owner Laney Chouest and his wife Ruth have invited us to their riverfront home to have a party for everyone. This is an awesome offer and welcome addition to the party. We'll have cocktails and live music and a killer view of the river/city. I'm working on arranging a couple shuttle buses so that people don't have to worry about the hassle of piloting the GT, and the tower only has room for 20 cars. As soon as I can get some confirmation I will send word, but in any case it is not far from the hotel, and we will need to be there at 7 PM. Please be sure to thank them for this gracious offer of New Orleans hospitality.
Attached is the Route PDF, and below is a link to the Google Maps page. This information will also be posted on the forum, and I will leave printed copies of the route guide at the hotel concierge.
Thanks
Dave
