Out of warranty interpretation

Here are two separate responses to an end of warranty issue that I got from the concierge:

1. Any parts that are replaced and covered under a warranty claim will have the remaining time of your GT’s warranty. Parts that are purchased, (not installed or covered under warranty work) will hold a 2 year/unlimited mileage warranty.

2. In regards to your warranty as you are aware your new vehicle limited warranty will be expiring on June 13th of this year. While I am not able extend your vehicle warranty you will have coverage of the items being repaired currently under warranty by Multimatic. Any repair completed after the first two years of the factory warranty has either the remainder of the factory warranty or a 12 month or 12k mile, whichever occurs first, service and parts warranty.

Does this really mean that if a $30,000 assembly was replaced under the 3 year new car warranty, and that warranty was expiring in one year, or even the next day, the next assembly would have to be purchased but would have a 2 year warranty? Or hydraulic leaks that keep recurring have to be fixed outside of the warranty to be good for two years?

I guess this doesn’t have to be in this forum, but a bunch of other’s warranties are running out.

That would be how I would interpret that. It also seems to indicate that if a repair is made under warranty and your warranty expires the next day and something happens to go wrong with the same item again, they would not cover it. I'm basing my guess on the interpretation of the last sentence of #2: "Any repair completed after the first two years of the factory warranty has either the remainder of the factory warranty or a 12 month or 12k mile, whichever occurs first, service and parts warranty."

Hello Flagstaff,

Ford motor company warranty is as follows and as I understand it.

1, you have 3 year unlimited mileage bumper to bumper warranty.

2, any repairs done under warranty are covered for 12 months or 12,000 miles even if you fall out of 3 year unlimited mileage bumper to bumper. (Its a service part warranty).

3, Any repairs that were paid by a customer after the 3 year unlimited warranty has expired are covered for 2 years unlimited mileage but only on the repairs nothing else.

I hope this helps.

Joe
