I hate when they don't publish the prices...

Yeah, but for one of these it's "if you have to ask". Think Powerball winner... My guess is about 1.2M.

Yes, I have to ask... If I were a buyer, asking would be at the top of my list. :)

It looks correct, but I'm curious why they don't list the Serial Number, as most collectors would be interested in that small omission.

I'd bet if you called and could be vetted as a serious buyer you'd have both in a heatbeat. Since virtually all of the cars' owners are known, this one may just want to remain under the radar screen "on the internet".

I think that they should have put gas fills on both of our front fenders even if one was "fake".
They look so good!

I think that was the plan. As I recall, the 2nd one was to be for the windshield washer reservoir, but the legal department said no.

I guess putting gas in the wrong one would have been considered bad!
I'm sure that they could have put some type of screen to prevent that from happening.
Maybe, they were more concerned about the other way around!
Thanks for the info.

They said they expect those prices to go up based on the outcome of the BJ auction. I think thats more of a sales tactic than anything.

Interesting and significant features of this car:
Single rear lamp.
No ventilation holes in the seats.
F O R D letters and badge on the sides.
Arm rest between the seats (I'll bet that fewer than 10 original cars had that even if they were "street" cars).
"Turkey Pan" around the Webers.
Full map "pocket" in each door.

No splitter and no diffuser. So high off the road. Aero in its infancy. Sure a lot of progress to our iteration. Bravo, Ford!

Probably been covered here before, but why? Concern about a mixup?

Per Camilo:

We fought heavily over some details, because basically the concept car that came out in 2002 was what the design team wanted. That was, you know, basically if we could have everything. So we lost the second fuel lid. There was a lot of safety issues with that. People said you'll put fuel in the wrong one, and I wanted it to be for washer fluid and they said "look, your windshield will catch on fire!" and all kind of crazy stuff went down.

Forgive my ignorance (or not), but, what is the 'turn signal-looking' thing that sticks straight out from the dash (above the shifter)?

'Never seen a GT40 sporting one of those.

Turn signal looking thingy looks like a turn signal thingy. Not sure what else it could be.
