It's getting close to that time again...........TEXAS MILE TIME!

registration opens 8-15-10 on texasmile.com. Event date is 10-22 thru 10-24

I highly suggest you sign up that day as it usually fills up within 2-3 days. If you don't happen to get in and want to come sign up for the waiting list. The way they do it is when someone leaves for the weekend due to breaking or whatever reason they let the next person on the waiting list in. If you want to run you will get a chance even by being on the waiting list.

The best day to run is Friday as there are less people running which means you will get more runs in. Saturday is the busy day and you will not get as many runs completed. Sunday you will be able to get as many runs as you want in. Gates open at 2 or 3pm on Thursday....that's the time I will be there.

I know a few GT guys will be there and I bet Ray will post up another record speed for the Texas Mile and I'm also betting he will raise to bar on the world record. I will be looking to better my personal best of 226.2mph.

I will have a reserved spot around the 1 mile marker and if anyone wants for me to save you a parking place just let me know.

If you anyone has any questions about the Mile just let me know, I'll be happy to let you guys know whatever I know.

Hi Kevin, wish we could meet up with you in Monterey.
I have been putting a lot of thought into this. I certainly want to break 220. I would not rule out 230 if all was perfect and we can work up to it. Monica would like to break 200, (I think she will with no problem). I know Jason will be there and can help me monitor the TT so the engine stays safe. I am going to be able to do a few shakedown runs at Mojave but we are limited to 205 for the class- although I think Skyrex was working on a bit higher limit for us. Even then it will be a good test with safety being first consideration. Are we doing a SoCal drive soon?

What is the setup for those that just want to hang and watch? I won't have my car with me but will still be in the USA on home leave and thought I might attend. Will be in The Woodlands during that time and just a short drive down. Sounds like a very exciting time to attend the Texas Mile.

All you have to do is show up and hang out. You are welcome to hang out at my RV.

I forgot to add.....

Just like last time my 9 year old daughter will be making/selling cupcakes, cookies, water and soft drinks. Come ready to snack.

Going to be there. Will need a spot for a RV and trailer to park. Hopefully I can just get my 200mph shirt on Friday and then hang out and watch Ray :)

The most enjoyable place to eat at the Texas Mile. A darling little girl and the more cup cakes I ate, the faster I went!!

Unfortunately, 40+ years of eating too many cupcakes has made my GT slower than average. Sounds like a great time.
