Know that when looking for your new baby (FORD GT) the maintenance and the upgrades to this perfect specimen is absolutely inexpensive.. and if you are a do it yourself-er..... than you will save tons...

I browse this section a lot always looking for the perfect price on another baby. so I see all of your wants and request and needs in pricing... remember when you need a new clutch, it'll cost you just shy of $1900 (just posted by Stillen in their thread) how much is a clutch on a Lambo or F car? (chime in guys)

Maybe this will push you to buy a piece of history.... most of us purchased out of love/history of this specimen and did not make our decision on what was in our wallet...

A simple pulley/tune and exhaust can run you what guys?3-5K? and that will give you an extra 100+hp alone.

You've been picky (and chose right) when deciding on the FGT, so don't be too picky with being set on a price... do your research hear (no one will lead you a stray not even the vendors) and then just buy the darn thing :wink

Happy hunting

Well I appreciate the post, I am seriously looking to buy a Ford GT, I think they are going to be a time piece.

I have built some high dollar hot rods and it is time for one of these in my inventory. Currently I have a 1956 Chevrolet Bel air that just won first place in the Grand National Roadster show, A 70 Z28 that won last year, a 57 Bel Air, and a beautiful 32 Roadster.
I am really looking forward to finding a Black gt40, I just joined the site a few day ago and already have learned so much.

So thanks for the post keep them coming.

yeah, the fgt has one of the lowest running costs of any supercar around. running cost on the vette might be a little cheaper, but adding power to the fgt is a lot cheaper and easier (i guess that's true for any FI motor).

also, lambo is notorious for 5k mi clutch changes. OUCH. the newer F cars are supposed to be "reasonable" 20-25k mi maybe.

only thing with the fgt, you have to make sure there is a good dealer nearby for service. otherwise you are in for a lot of aggravation.

Had the Lambo, had a Grand National Roadster show 1st place winner. The best car I've ever had has been the Ford GT, the Viper I had follows close though.
