Are they still offering the wide track front axle?

Rumor I heard was it was only going to be available on 450s and up.

Can't wait for Torrie to get a tune for this beast.
:thumbsup

My 06 that I am trading in today is the same Silver but 2WD dealer was shocked it was in mint condition but I just got to excited for this new style. In person the Chrome and Silver really work well (IMHO).

tpraceman,

move that truck to California, the weather looks terrible behind it. It would love to run in the deserts!

My 2011 F250 is being lifted as we speak. Should have it done by early next week. Wil post pics. I drove it for about 300 miles before we started modding it and I can say that Ford got this one right. Motor is a BIG improvement. I love the whole truck!

I would really appreciate some comments from the new owners of the 2011 Ford Dually's, in regards to mileage comparisons vs a 2008 or 2009. I have a 2008, and i find myself driving my 1999 more often on long trips because of the mileage differentiation 6.8 vs 12 per gallon. (towing a 24ft box)

Congrats on these new steeds.....they are cool looking, to say the least.

Enjoy .....:thumbsup

I don’t know where to begin.
I drove it 60 miles last night.

The truck is like something from the future and if I read it or someone told me about this truck I would have smiled and thought they were just bragging.

Ok the motor is so quiet you can barely hear it out side and inside forget it.
It has a Manual shift feature like my SHO, Just push the up shift button or down shift and pick any of the 6 gears you need to climb a big hill or what ever.
The dash is so cool with a screen in the middle which shows all kids of cool stuff to much to mention but it works like a computer where you can use the mouse on the steering wheel to select a feature such as vehicle level and it will show you the truck in 2 views with front to back angle and side to side angle great for knowing what grade your climbing or what ever. You can select door lock programming fuel economy running or idling or towing or non towing. and tons of other stuff.

The side mirrors are of course huge and electric but telescope electric.
The rear fenders are sweet they are rounded and more like a Harley rear fender.

Interior is fantastic and full of lockable compartments under seats which are cooled and heated as well as so big a 300# guy good sit in the middle (the arm rest is a foot wide. Running boards are 2X the size of my 06 F350

Now for the weird the huge fuel door reveals 2 caps? 1 is for the fuel the other is for exhaust oil. I guess the motor is so tuned for MPG that the hot pipes are cooled with special injected oil.

Took it home and the wife jumped in and drove it.
It is so easy (I think it has electric steering) to drive and so freakishly smooth (remember this is the highest rated GVW truck) with 4 or maybe I should call it 6 wheel drive. And the off road package along with the long bed.

I would feel right at home taking this to the fanciest outing or rock climbing or toss a camper on the back and live in it.

You guys should stop in and drive one just for kicks it is really hard to explain.

Oh and yes the TQ with the 6 speed is fast and as you might expect never stops pulling hard

I'll post some photos soon.

I will post the MPG as it does track it 3 ways towing -not towing- and seperates running time not in gear.
So far the instant MPG for the 60 miles shows 20 (haven't gone on the highway yet)

Shelby this thing is so huge I could not imaging lifting it but you do have great taste so I hope you post up some photos.

On the Silverado Duramax I am told the weak link is the Allison transmission, the isuzu engine is practically indestructible and could be tuned to 1000+HP but your tranny would last too long.

What is your take on the new Ford transmission with added HP? I have always loved the ergonomics of the Ford a whole lot better than that of Chevrolet.

The new trans is the best part of this new truck line.

The 6 speed is bullet proof and is very well designed including the paddle shifted manual mode.

Talking to a tester today the Motor Trend shoot out guys all said it would be #1 if for just the trans.

Also the trans has a downhill de-cell mode tap the brake and the trans + antiLock + the brake control + Trailer sway control + Traction control all kick in to control the speed. Hard to explain but Mike Rowe has a very short youtube showing it.

You must test drive one if just for the experience it is so different than anything you have ever driven.

Well, had her almost 3 weeks. This is a quick I-Phone photo of her from today. Man I love this truck. 10 days of custom fabrication to have the first lifted 2011 F250 in the country. More photos to follow in the next couple of days! :thumbsup

12 inch suspension lift
22 inch XD Series DIESEL wheels
41 Inch Super Swamper Irok Radials
etc....

Actually rides smoother now than it did when stock!

Wow!

Raceman & Shelby,

Those are some very manly trucks. They make my Expedition look like a Smart Car.
