Just a quick note, that I have added moderator status to ChipBeck, and Shelby#18 (Rick Saute).

I felt like Chip is a person who represents the GT community, with his well thought out and reasoned posts, and his irrefutable commitment to the GT owner's community via his planning of dinners, gatherings, and rallies to the rally. His isn't that high, but post count is just a number, and I feel like in spirit and intent, Chip is a logical choice. I have asked and he has accepted.

Rick said he would take care of all GTX1 stuff when we were out in California at the memorial. Nobody knows the GTX1 situation better, and he, Bony and I had discussed the section and relevant topics on many occasions. The man in the cowboy hat has been a great help to many over the past few years. I appreciate and accept Mr. Shelby#18's assistance on the site.

There will be further additions at a later date. For now, if anything ever goes wrong with the site, I encourage you to blame them.

Chip's speech at Bony's services, as recounted to me, leads me to agree that he's the perfect choice.

And Rick too, as he was Bony's replacement at GT School, here too is he Bony's heir apparent as mod.

But an appointment on April fools day. I don't know whether to believe it or not. :wink

I applaud the choices, knowing that they've got VERY LARGE shoes to fill. Nevertheless, congrats to the new mods.

Gentlemen,

I consider Dave's asking me to take a greater role in this forum a great honor. I do not have Bony's stature, computer skills, experience, or depth of knowledge on such a wide range of subjects. But I do believe I share his passion for this car, its history, and the Ford GT community that revolves around it. As I am not logged onto the forum nearly as often as Daniel was, I'm going to request all of our long-term members (you know who you are) notify me via PM if you see a problem. Working with DBK, I'll do my best to maintain the tone and character that has made this the most civil corner of the World Wide Web. I can't do all the things that Bony did, but I'll do the best I can do. All the best.

Considering the shoes you are going to try to fill, will not be easy. But, I believe that you guys are the best choices given these circumstances.

Congratulation on a well deserved appointment. The rest of us will never forget where we came from, and where we are headed.

Again, Congrats to both. DBK has made a great choice.

Congratulations Chip and Rick! :banana

I see a pattern here, at least with Chip - he wound up short on the bill at one of the BJ dinners in Scottsdale in '08, and wouldn't let some of us help him make up the shortfall when we found out.

If you guys use Blackberrys, just don't tell us if you're wearing a towel! :lol

Thank you all for your support on these appointments. I've already spoken to Dave to thank him for his trust in me. I am honored to serve. I'm just sad that it had to be in this way.

As I've said many times before, this is the best forum around. And I'm sure well all do our best to keep it that way. :thumbsup
