Not sure if it is the first one to break the million line, but a Heritage sold at Mecum here in Florida last night for 1,001,000. The Steve McQueen #20 917 LeMans car is up today. Will probably set records but it doesn’t wear the orange and blue as well as the Ford.

Don't know anything about this car in particular, but sounds like the free drinks were flowing. My color scheme is also a heritage for the '67 winner, and the watch to prove it....LOL

Unfortunately the auction is only on a pay streaming channel... I do believe it is the first 05-06 to cross the $1M mark. It even beat out a NFGT that went for close to 900K.

That 2006 heritage only had 71 miles on the odometer...

That is way over BAT money. It was predicted 05-06s would someday pass NFGT pricing! I never would have believed it! To think I almost bought a second GT,a brand new heritage in 06 from a dealer below sticker! ( wife probably had something to do with it!)

I watched several hours of the Mecum Kissimmee auction, paying particular attention to Ford GTs.

My impression is that Gen II Ford GTs have pretty much maxed out in perceived value and are trending 'down' in price, while Gen I GTs continue to trend 'up', especially Heritage variants.

My observations are borne out by Classic.com which tracks sales and price trends for all manner of collector and super cars.

So, $500,000 or so for Robin egg blue paint and zero performance difference or racing pedigree.

I do not get it.

$25M couldn't buy the McQueen 917 (owned by Jerry Seinfeld since 2001)

The predictions are coming true.
I heard someone say once....

"Someday you'll say to yourself,
I remember when 05/06 GTs were only a mere 350, or 400 for a Heritage and now they're a Mil plus.
Ah the good ole days"

And that was for the very low mile examples, which now even a few thousand miles is still bringing some serious money.
